The Frats

Actually, it probably won’t work at all, because frats can’t “contaminate” potential rushees with early impressions about the rush class- that’s why orientation advisors in Fraternities and Sororities can’t reveal which one they are in to their students over the summer.

Orientation Advisors are only for sororities. Fraternities have a different system and there are no restrictions.

In response to squadus:

* 85% percent of Fortune 500 executives are Greek.

 • 85% of U.S. Supreme Court Justices since 1800 have been Greek, including the first woman Justice, Sandra Day O’Connor.
 • 7 out of 10 of those listed in Who’s Who in America are Greek.
 • 76% of all U.S. Senators and Congressmen are Greek.
 • All but two U.S. Presidents since 1825 have been Greek.
 • 43 of 50 of the nations’ largest corporations are led by Greeks.

So basically, leadership development, social opportunities, many more opportunities to mean women (or men if you join a sorority). Also the Greek GPA is higher than the university-wide GPA.

The sororities on the row have GPAs above the all campus GPA. I know one group, over 130+ members, had 44 who had GPAs last semester 3.75 or over. The president had a 3.9 GPA.

Panhellenic is the association of NPC sororities at USC. The website is: [University of Southern California Panhellenic](http://www.uscpanhellenic.com) .

GeorgiaGirl is correct, and the statistics are similar for fraternities.

USC’s all-fraternity GPA is consistently above USC’s all-men’s GPA. The past two student body presidents have been fraternity members, as well as a recent Daily Trojan Editor-in-Chief.

As was Steven Sample, USC’s President.

if you’re a spring admit, can you still rush in the spring for sororities???

Unlike fraternities, most sororities only have fall rush.

But you can rush as a sophomore.

HM,
You can go through recruitment in the fall. You will be considered a freshman, unless you have many AP credits.
Keep up your grades and participate in an interest group to become acquainted. You will have an entire semester to decide if Greek life is for you.

How do you go through recruitment if you’re not on campus? I’m kind of confused about the prcess??

The next formal recruitment for sororities will be in the fall of 2009. If you are a spring admit you will be attending classes from January until May. You will meet sorority women and non sorority women in classes and social activities. Your first opportunity for joining is fall 2010.
You will have plenty of time to decide if you wish to go through recruitment. If you are living at home and enrolled at SC you are still eligible to register for fall recruitment in 2010 providing you have met the Panhellenic GPA requirement.
I hope that answers your question.
