Is the freshman 15 easy to gain at Cornell? Do alot of the students go to the gym daily? Is there a big pick up basketball scene at Cornell?

I nor do any of my friends had gained weight while at Cornell.
Given that people are either busy doing work, or in class, I don’t think most people have time to eat at all.
Given that there are sooooooo many hills and having to walk to different parts of a big campus to get to class, even being able to use the bus, it’s hard to gain weight.

Some people go to the gym that is on campus, but not that much since I don’t see gyms being crowded everywhere. Maybe in total about 250-300?

I gained 8 pounds my freshman year
But I lost it over the summer after and it’s pretty difficult to gain weight while you’re there.

Definitely a lot of pickup if you go later at night. Unless it’s around finals time, there are always at least 10-15 people playing at Newman or Noyes. Towards the beginning of the semester you may have to wait over half an hour for a game especially if it’s a Thursday Friday or Saturday. I don’t know about Newman these days but Noyes starts getting crowded after 8:30 or 9.

It’s easy to gain the freshman 15 if you can’t control yourself at buffet style places (like the dining hall) and grow to be dependent on the bus system. It happened to me last year.

This year however, I live somewhere where I have to walk up the slope to class every day, but theres no easy bus access. I’ve lost 20 pounds from second semester freshman year.

i never watched my weight and ate as much as i wanted in dining halls. i had the 14 plan meal in freshman year and i always use it up. i eat 3 meals a day with lunch in trillium. i lost 5 lbs… =( that put my BMI in the underweight category… =(
