you both are acting just like my cousin........

ouch. (10 char)

i want to see something like cripple fight from southpark in the tisch lecture hall uc60 on the main stage. sweet, gl hf gg no re

seriously, you guys are in the same school.

why don't you meet each other and solve the problem?

I'm a Wharton student and here is my rant...

I don't mean to be rude, but I think both of you guys need to grow up.
Firewalker, the Stern school at NYU is not overrated. While it has been slipping in the rankings over the past few years (I remember when it was ranked at #3 and not #5 or #6 like it is now) it remains an excellent school, especially for finance and because of the NYC location. If you are so bitter about that for whatever reason, work hard and earn good grades in your current school (I'm guessing the Liberal Arts school?) and transfer out to an Ivy League school if prestige is what you are after.

Hsseniorlooking, your arrogance is not going to get you very far. Being a Stern Scholar is not going to help you unless you have the grades and internship experience to back it up. If you do already, that's great, but I can guarantee you that pompousness is not going to land you a job after college. Here at Wharton, kids feel like they are kings of the world just because they go to the #1 undergraduate business school in the country...and in fact there is this really bad joke people say on campus about how they eat CHINKen noodles (Stern kids) for breakfast (referring to the largely Asian population of Stern). I find this to be very sickening and I can gurantee you that these idiots who are full of themselves will never be as successful as a hardworking student from Stern, or any other business school for that matter, will.

Bottom line - respect each other, because it will only be your hard work and people skills that will pay off in the end.

You guys can't read for $hit. I clearly conceded that point in post #19, "Well, it's not 'overrated'...."

Secondly, hsseniorlooking isn't in college yet, so I don't know where he's getting that attitude from. Must be that whole Stern thing getting to his head. No wonder they're so god damn pretentious, it's all making sense now!!!

Im not that bitter, defintely not to the point where Im going to transfer out of here...don't take things you read here too seriously.

But I would gladly fight him if he's accepted into Stern. You know what the typical Stern kid is like...Suffice to say, Im not worried.

HAHHAHA

I am not completely sure why you said that, but for some reason I found it very amusing. I LOLed.

Its ALL good.

oh snap, what's up hupkorea?

and BAM, 100 post baaby

I agree with the first post, except for a few minor points:

There is free printing for everyone at NYU at the Tisch LC lab.

The Stern curve does NOT result in only 2 people in a class getting A's... If you look at the published curve for the Finance dept (and this applies ONLY to finance classes, but keep in mind that profs always have leeway in using or not using the curve, and non-finance classes also curve sometimes). 20-25% of the class gets As or A-s...

Rubin is nice because you're on 5th Ave, but it's totally not close to any of the famous landmarks you described :P And I remember the elevators being totally ganky - still, I think definitely one of the best values of the dorms I've had so far.

Scholars is nice in terms of the perks - I went to a bunch of NY Philharmonic & Met Opera performances over the last few years, but don't get too excited about your trips. You actually have to pay for them now :\ Also, I believe that the junior year trip is to Washington DC, not Europe. Still, not a bad deal.

As for the last 10 posts... simmer down! It's too early to get bitter - wait until senior year and then you can look back and gnash your teeth about it.

With all due respect IVYpoison, the finale for season three was shot at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, which I believe is independent from the Kimmel Center.

Hmm ya ... I might be biased here ... But hey, the hot water situation has finally been fixed recently. I also hope that bribing you guys with bagels is working lol.

Well it's a 30 minute walk to the empire state building, which isn't too bad considering it takes me 30 minutes to talk to the nearest movie theatre where i'm from. The elevators are ganky, ya, but at least its all hardwood unlike Weinstein's, which is like the inside of a fridge. As far as stern Scholar trip goes, we get to decide where we are going next year, i believe. We're taking a vote sometime. Everyone wants to go to Europe. And we do pay, but come on, $125 bucks for a trip that would otherwise have cost you more than a grand. Airfare, hotel, food (somewhat, i mean, u should eat out anyways) are covered.

I'm not sure if i've said this, but as far as wharton goes, the truth of the matter is half of all sternies got rejected by wharton. Although I know one girl who got in wharton and columbia but chose stern instead, and a guy who got in harvard, another guy who got in stanford, and a girl who got in princeton, but all chose stern instead. Not all for financial reasons too.

My sophomore friend, who lives in the water street dorm, has an internship on wall street that is literally right beside his dorm building. location works.

oh ya, and although greek life is almost non-existant in NYU due to its lack of a central campus, its chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon (frat of 5 US presidents), was rated top chapter in the entire frat last year.

btw Goyoung and hupkorea, who are you guys? I know for sure that I met one of you guys when I was going door-to-door, we even chatted about cc... come to think about it, weren't you ON CC when i knocked? lol

what were your stats ivy?

That would be me, IVY. :D You caught me at a very embarrassing moment.

haha I think i met hupkorea at the scholars meeting today. he was trying to deny his identity lol we're cool tho, if he is **** ***

blah my stats are irrelavent. If you really want to look at them, go through and look at my posts on the harvard/wharton class of 2010 RA decisions page. The crappy part is that I got stuff after the decisions came out that could've swayed some decisions, oh well, regret is useless. I did the stuff because I liked them, and I'm still involved with many of my high school activities right now in NYU.

I'm gonna leave this board now since I'm not really in the mood for all this highschool-college application stuff. I remember today last year, I was studying for my SAT II's that were on dec 4, so I ended up not celebrating my 18th bday. Well today I'm gonna take it easy a bit and actually celebrate it. Stern scholars meeting today was cool today cause they all sang the bday song <3, and I'm going to be spending $700 later tonight on chocolate with my Stern cohort, $500 of which would be covered by stern.

Here's my sincere advice to all applicants:

Work your ass off in this last month to try to get in your top choice colleges, it might payoff. But keep in mind that there is a very real chance that you will not get into any of your top choices, which was what happened to me. But in the end it doesn't really matter where you go for college, it's what you make of that experience.

Good luck, and maybe I'll see some of you next year.
