My freshman year was a pain because I can't put anything on the EC section on college applications. Plus, I took easy classes, since that year, I had just arrived from the Philippines, I took the ESL test(which i passed, and they told me they could put me in regular classes, but not in Honors classes because i'm new in this country)..

Anyway,here:

ECs: Marching Band (colorguard member), Winterguard, Student Council, Beta Club, Relay for Life
The other clubs I'm in didn't start until my sophomore year.

But I totally agree with erhswimming--join things your freshman year. Don't wait to "get settled" or whatever; your classes will be easiest in 9th grade so you really have no excuse not to get involved in school. Plus, it's a great way to meet people.

Personally, I thought sophomore year was easier. For me, English, math, and history was easier in my second year. Spanish was about the same. The only class that was really hard for me was chemistry.

Freshman year was pretty relaxing though.

I struggled in freshman year to keep a 3 and failed, and I had no EC activities.

haha... frosh year was my chance to slack off. though i went to more parties my soph year... -___-
