I don’t really see any improvements in Chad Henne’s decision making. He has been the starter for 4 years and his freshmen year was his best. I initially liked Loeffler, and thought what he did with Navarre, who wasn’t even recruited as a QB, was very impressive but I think he did a pretty horrible job developing Henne. I don’t know maybe I am too quick to judge him…

I don’t believe the bit about Miles having already said he is leaving for a second…Bill Martin will not have made any contact with Miles at this point. It looks like Bill Martin is heading down to LA this weekend, and will be meeting with Miles once Saturday’s game is done with.

Recruiting:
Really only two guys are questionable, Cissoko and McGuffie. Boubacar is thinking about taking some backup visits if he doesn’t like the next coach’s style as much, but he likes Miles, and I don’t really think he is going anywhere. McGuffie is going to remain questionable into the near future, coaching changes at Texas A&M are going to have a big impact on this. I saw that Fred Jackson went down and visited, that should help us out a bit though.

Futnil, I love Tedford and all he has done for Cal, but they were ranked #2 in the country at one point, and now have to beat archrival Stanford just to be bowl-eligable. Not what Mich fans want, I think he needs a little more experience.

Is that official now? According to some CNN sports writer, Michigan is going to the Champ Sports bowl as Big Ten #5 to play against Boston College. Why are we ranked as #5 instead of #3 in the Big Ten?

ESPN also reported the hiring of Tenuta, Georgia Tech’s Defensive Coordinator. He is actually one of the best DCs in college football today. If Miles could only arrange for a top flight OC to join the team, we’ll be flying next year.

i think shiano would be a good one, though he turned down florida last year. i really think we need someone with a proven record as a head coach, not a coordinator though. pete carroll would be nice.

lol now I look like a moron. Oh well on to Brian Kelly, I hope Martin doesn’t panic and hires some flavor of the year coach like Pinkel, Grobe, or Schiano and even worse, any on the current staff.

Les Miles has not explicitly said that he is staying at LSU. All he said is that he is the Coach at LSU and that we will coach at LSU. Yes, he will coach at LSU for at least 2 more games (from the time he held his press conference). But since Carr retired, Les Miles has chosen his words very carefully. He has never explicitly said that he is staying at LSU for the 2008-2009 seson. That doesn’t mean that he will leave LSU to Michigan, but he wil talk to Michigan and hear them out.

On a separate note, it looks likely that LSU and OSU will play each other for the NC. #1 Missouri and #2 West Virginia lost, and just like last year, coaches will not allow a team that did not win its conference (Georgia) to play in the NC game. So #3 OSU should be ranked #1 come tomorrow afternoon and LSU should leap past West Virginia, Oklahoma and Georgia to the #2 spot. So this will further comlicate matters. Les Miles will not talk to Michigan until mid January.

Miles said he will be the coach at LSU next year and said he won’t be going to Michigan as in never. He said this in the PC after the SEC championship game so I don’t think he will go back on those words unless he wants become the next Saban. This is a great day for UM, first we get humiliated in the national media and our biggest rival makes the NC game again..just a great day.
