The Ghost Story...

I've been hearing rumors that there once was a girl who got locked outside on the rooftop of one of the dorms while she was asleep. Then it started storming and she got struck by lightning. Now she haunts the dorms moving furniture.

IS THAT TRUE???

Does she charge by the hour? I can well imagine she’d be a hit on move-in and move-out day. :)

There’s more than one ghost story from what I hear. A lot comes from simply being in the same place for a very long time in an older city (by Florida standards).

During orientation (at least when I went, last year) there was a ghost tour that was pretty good. The struck-by-lightning story is about a girl in Cawthon, and there’s also ghost stories about landis (and the tunnels beneath it), Strozier, a science building, and a couple other places.

Yeah, I’ve heard the lightning story too.

Real ghost story - Gallows Hill (where Westcott is located) was the site of public executions for Tallahassee starting in 1829. Two people were executed - a woman for murdering her child and in 1832 a man for unspecified crimes.

Can dogs fly? :o:O:O:O:O

I heard that at an orientation, a girl was kidnapped and sent to georgia in her sleep. thats why there are curfews at 11

Nah dude I just heard that she got so drunk and partied so hard that she woke up in Georgia with no recollection of the night before.

…there aren’t curfews at 11…

There are no 11 o’ clock curfews at FSU that I know about, however they established that curfew for orientation due to that incident.

there’s a curfew for orientation? not that i knew of when i was there last year…

It just happened this summer. I think it was 2 orientations before mine

yes the curfew suckss, but there’s ways around it. I went to orientation with friends who came along and aren’t going to FSU. I stayed out until 2ish, and when I did come back and got questioned by the leaders, I told them I was coming back from the movie (they played one at the theatre) and it was fine.
You’re going to be up early anyway, so staying out late is probably not a great idea!

Yeah, plus you have the next four years to be out as late as you want so one night isn’t really a big deal.
