i am taking 7 this year, how is everyone else doing?

O_O!
Well, in my senior year, I did 6 and was pretty freakin heavy and I had no fun in my senior year.... until the 2nd semester

Over 4 is kind of dumb, IMO...I'm not gonna say anyone can do it, because not everyone can, but I mean it isn't worthless to do so many, unless your family can't afford college.

^ yo back then, we had to take a computer science class and an art class. I didn't have this so I took AP Art and AP Computer Science plus the 4 AP's

the number of APs mean nothing, since it really depends on the level of difficulty of the particular AP. like, last year i literally spend 4 days (DURING AP week...in between other tests) prepping for both econ tests. they were hella easy, so like its not that great of an achievement to get double 5s...

i took 10 tests last year, 9 fives, 1 three.

My son took 4 AP exams last year as a junior & got 3 5s & a 4. He's taking 5 APs this year & will be taking physics C both exams, mirco & macro econ, comp sci ab, english lit, calculus ab; I guess that makes 7 exams? What he likes is that he has no classes after taking the last AP exam in mid-May, so lots of free time before he graduates in early June.

The greatest number of AP/IBs I took was all (8) in both junior and senior years. I took IB and AP exams for most subjects. I'll list my courses for senior year.

Senior Year
Calculus BC- 5
Physics C- 4's on mech and E/M (1st year of physics)
Biology- 6 on IB, 5 on AP
Chemistry- 6 on IB, 5 on AP
English- 5 on IB, 5 on AP (Lit)
German- 5 on IB, 4 on AP
History- 6 on IB
Psychology- 6 on IB, 5 on AP

It's not that difficult if you manage your time wisely. Honestly.

What firebird said is definitely correct... I did 10 last year (8 self-study), all fives. A lot of tests just aren't at all rigorous. For instance... I put off learning macroecon until 10:00 the night before the test, and then put off microecon until the lunch break between macro and micro. Most tests aren't that completely worthless... but some are (also including english lang, envi sci, us govt, and comparative govt). At the same time, a few, especially the foriegn language and history exams, take a lot of work.

3: 2 5's and a 4.

Four, which is considered a lot in my school (I think so too).

Biology
APUSH
English Language
Spanish Language

hey i was just wondering.... the practice tests in the Kaplan 2005 PSAT book, are they accurate because for some reason, you can miss like 8 and still get a 70 which is not true at all on the real test where you can only miss 2 or 3 and get a 70....

So what do u guys say about taht>

Yeah I have known some pople take 8 AP classes, but take only 4 of those tests. While some others (thatindiandude) have studied for a bunch (10+) and aced a majority of them.

sanguine: that curve is too generous for the PSAT

I understand that anyone could handle 5+ APs if they manage their time wisely, but for those who are aiming for "top schools"... there's ECs and sports to worry about too. Do you only do your EC's over the weekends or something?

This year I'm taking 4 aps...and its kind of hard but Im doing fine :) Bio is the worst. I just don't like it.

For those taking over 4 A.P.'s: Do you receive a lot of homework in those subjects? I know it may sound somewhat silly, but I know some schools where they give almost 1 - 2 hours of homework per A.P. class.

It depends on the class.

Some classes like AP Stat have tons of busy work, whereas other subjects like AP US or World History, the teacher may grade solely on tests and papers.

what is the difference between AP English Literature and AP English Language?

rather similar

though, lit deals with fiction and poems

I would like to self-study a test or two (tests that my school does NOT offer!). Well, I have to give in the money for the three APs that I am taking in school by October 3rd. When do I pay for the extra APs that I want to take? Where do I take it? Who do I contact?

Man, I pwn you guys. Last year, as a Junior, I took 10 AP tests in addition to the one I took freshman year and the two I took sophomore year. I've taken Bio, Eng. Lit, Eng. Lang, Psychology, Env. Sci, Human Geog, Micro Econ, Macro Econ, US History, World History, Music Theory, Euro History, US Govt. This year I'm taking 8 more. Scores= All 5s except for fours in Micro and Govt.
