The harry potter movies suck

who agrees. I really don't understand all the hype for the Deathly Hallows... the acting for all HP movies is subpar and cliche, and the movies are boring. yawn

the books, on the other hand, were quite compelling to me when I was in elementary school/ middle school.

in fact, I would go as far as to say that most books made from dystopian fiction novels are quite terrible. I liked a clock work orange though.

I bet you think the Twilight movies are awesome.

Good to know your opinions on the series, I may now take comfort in living.

Sorry let me clarify. This is not me expressing my opinion; it’s a rant.

Yeah, they blow. I fell asleep half way through the first one because it was so boring. I don’t even know why people see them, much less why everyone’s going crazy over them…

I’ve never read the books, but I’ve always found the movies to be very entertaining. I stopped watching them though after Goblet of Fire. I just lost interest, I guess.

They’re alright, but not a worthy substitution of the books. What movie ever is?

I went to the last two movies’ midnight releases. Ugh. The freaks come out at night, especially on school/work nights when sane people are asleep. There were stupid duels and crappy costumes.

On Thursday night, these college-age chicks cried throughout the entire movie, gave commentary (“OH NO!! WATCH OUT!!” “This is so cool-looking!” and etc.) and made, er, orgasmic sounds intermittently. They seriously needed a life, I don’t know who the hell is that attached to the series they have to ruin everyone else’s experience with their out-of-whack emotions.

And my friend kept talking throughout/crying, too. Thank god I didn’t sit next to her…

Emorylegacy, why would you go to a midnight premiere of a series and then make fun of everyone there? If you wanted to watch the movie without encountering any die-hards, you should’ve gone another time.

deh, they’re okay. i haven’t watched since goblet of fire either.

Order of the phoenix was the worst of the series.

All the rest are awesome though. A lot better than Twilight or that narnia crap.

Harry Potter is a joke. Here’s my theory:

If you’re gonna fight someone, do it like a man. This does NOT mean wave a stick at someone and say some dumbas stuff like “avodoia diosos” or something. This means go up to him and throw a punch.

Just thought I’d throw that out there haha

Eventhough this under the High School Life forum I am a college student who actually was going to go see the movie with a group of people I know but was unable to since I am back home for break ( or if I decided to go to Georgia with another group). The tickets were also sold out by the time I searched them at the local movie theaters. At my university there was maybe a hundred free tickets given out which promoted a long line. Suprise to read your post about the movie since I thought everyone would like it, there is only one more part to the movie left and it is said that the Harry Potter series will then end.

But… but… There’s Emma Watson in it!

There are plenty of die-hards who aren’t annoying when watching the movie. The only bad part was those people who were talking and crying at parts like Harry simply walking towards the lake with Godric’s sword. Those people are horrible no matter what time you watch or see a movie.

I do love the series, don’t get me wrong. Just a bad experience that I’d rather not relive.

I rather liked the new movie, the acting, and the directing. I felt it was rather well done

I agree with schoolisfun; I thought this one was notch above the others. Everything seemed to work well together and it followed the book pretty well. Overall, I had no complaints and would actually like to go see it again soon (and that’s saying something because I’ve never seen a movie twice in theaters). Gotta agree with impetous as well ;)

I cried when Dobby died…I guess I’m lame then.

^NOT AT ALL! I wanted to… haha

It was so heartbreaking!
Although during the movie, I was getting so upset right before he died…
Dobby launched this whole tirade on Bellatrix about how he’s a free elf for like a full minute or two!
The whole time I was just thinking, “NOOO LEAVE NOW!!!”

I get way too invested in this series.

The directing style of the films have changed dramatically since Goblet of Fire. In retrospect, I believe that the first few movies are rather boring and dull. David Yates has added a lot more suspense and action with 5, 6, and 7.
