The Harvard Pre-App requirement Fall 2010

I just noticed that Harvard wants applicants to submit the Common App ASAP, adding that applicants can submit the short answer, personal essay, and supplements at a later date. I'm assuming they ask applicants to submit basic info so they can start your file.

But this isn't easy. The common app does not let you submit unless you've completed the short answer and essay. So your options are:

1) upload an essay that says "tbd" and fill in a short answer that also says "tbd" and then electronically submit via the commonapp or...
2) print out the common app, write in "tbd" in the short answer and personal essay section and send it in by snail mail.

Does anyone know which way it the best/preferred? Or is there another option?

Perhaps this is an applicant test that clearly I'm failing. :)

Relax xD. Were I not finished I would just write “To be submitted a later date” and then send the essay via email. I am not sure about Harvard but in Oxbridge everything they print out is rearranged anyway to fil a big A2 page with essays inside. Perhaps they do the same, I don’t think it matters.

Your commonapp should be complete before you send it. The only reason they’re asking that it be sent early is so that it’s easier for them to deal with the 30,000+ applications they’re going to be getting this year. When you send it won’t have any affect on your admissions decision.

fill out a paper copy to be able to send it without the essays.
