I took BC calc last year without taking a course. They tested so few topics last year. I got a 5, but I am still mad about all the stupid mistakes I made on it. That was my first ever AP exam that I took.

“And, in the midst of studying, of course my mind has wandered back to contemplating my chances of getting off of the Harvard wait list… it’s almost inevitable.”

Same here…rolls eyes

Add me as a lurker coming forward. I want to major in engineering.

Hurray titan! You are added to the master list. I’ll post it later tonight while also not studying for calc BC! I’m taking a practice test. It’s so pointless. I just keep pausing my stopwatch and heading back to CC. :o

-Optimism!

@hobo, Wash U does seem like an amazing place and I am happy to go but Harvard would entice me away. We actually wouldn’t meet next year as I am taking a gap year, but I’d be happy to meet you after.
@qizixite, putting where you matriculated on the list is a great idea. We should all do that.
I am not taking BC Calc, btw. Just Bio and Lit. I decided not to take the AB Calc Exam because I suck at math.

Hey guys, I’m on the waitlist too! I put down my deposit for Columbia already, but still hopeful :)

Welcome! I’m putting college of matriculation in brackets. Feel free to state it and I’ll add it (that was a rhyme!).

If your name is in bold PLEASE come out and say hi so we can confirm that you remained on the waitlist! Thanks!

Updated with wonderful lurkers. More people should come out and join us! (77 people so far; 51 for sure-26 unknown)

Noticed you didn’t put down your own matriculation, qizixite. Where are you going?

I edited it in! U. Chicago! I’m pretty excited although… Harvard…

okay. I hate to be regimental, but the list is getting really shabby looking. I’m going to reformat it

qizixite (location) interests [college attending] and see how it looks. And yes, this is jus tanother way for me to not study for APs :o

We had Honors night at my D’s school tonight and one of her friends was accepted to Yale. His Mom told me that there were a lot of kids that took Yale over Harvard and to not give up because there was lots of opportunity.

Hurray! Each person is on one line! If you don’t like what your line says, just say so. I am going to stop posting now to give other people a turn. I feel like I am hogging the thread :o

Simplywaiting: that’s good news. I just hope the yield is around 73% crossing fingers that’s 122 people accepted off the waitlist!

This is getting so organized and you’re not hogging qizixite. Yale takes the most from Harvard. Apparently its a 64-36 split for cross-admits.

Agreed that qizixite is not a hog. Qiz, you are the best thing to happen to this thread!

Still no yield news, but in the meantime, here is an interesting article that someone posted on another thread…

[College admissions: The annual guessing game | The Burlington Free Press | Burlington, Vermont](http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20100502/NEWS02/5020305/College-admissions-The-annual-guessing-game)

Interesting article but I feel like none of this stuff ever applies directly to Harvard. League of its own.

My last update to the list of the night. I agree with you Gunther, none of this applies. But it is always fun to speculate… speculate… speculate…

Welcome! I’m putting college of matriculation in brackets. Feel free to state your own and I’ll add it.

I will just add that this totally will NOT be your last update of the night. Of that, I am sure.

Well, now that AP Spanish is over I guess I’m obliged to stop lurking on this thread and give you a few up-to-the-dizzates.

For the master list: I’m from the great state of Michigan, and like cicero, I plan to try a Physics/Math dual-concentration. For my unabashed love of physics, well, surely you’re the cause, Mr. Feynman!

As far as a favorite author is concerned, Proust is in a league of his own. So much goodness contained in a measly 4300 pages. Read it this summer if you get a chance. Beside (or rather, pretty far beneath) Proust would have to be Joyce (A Portrait of the Artist > Ulysses in my opinion) and Faulkner (Absalom, Absalom! blew me away). And Jerry Spinelli’s Stargirl will always occupy a special place in my heart.

Have you read Faulkner’s “The Bear”? Great short story. I’m going to have to try Proust this summer. Everyone seems to love it.

Nick, is this an okay line for you in the master list?:
Nickwasy (MI) math/physics [U. Michigan]

@Gunther. It is now the morning of a new day. I therefore was right my friend!

@qizixite, Semantics, good budy, just semantics. Is that why you waited until after midnight btw?
