That’s somewhat depressing about Yale… oh well, now all of my hope is invested in Harvard. Except not really, because I also love the school I’m matriculating at. But still… it’s Harvard!

One of my friends who is going to Yale said that only 7 people were taken off of their waitlist, and they’re done now. Can anyone confirm this?

Wrong!!! Seven people were taken off** last year.**

I’m from Maryland and have matriculated at UMD (though I’m on P’s waitlist too)

The wait is agonizing. I got asked which Washington University I was going to tonight. While wearing a WUSTL shirt. Very annoying. The CC waitlist just keeps getting bigger and bigger. We’ll see success.

@qizixite: Well, I was excited that yale may have had a high yield, because that could mean harvard has a low one… I guess we should find out very soon though.

@gunther: I totally agree. While I’m really happy about Penn (though people keep asking if I’m talking about Penn State), it would be nice to have closure sooner than later.

iluv11alot: It seems that there is a lot of cross-waitlist pollination (or whatever it’s called). I wonder how that will affect the waitlist movement.

gunther: I think we have a large enough active sample size that when they start taking people off the waitlist, the entire thread will hear about it. But until then, I’m in the same boat! I was asked yesterday which branch of the U. Chicago system I was going to. Still, I don’t mind; I just promise myself that I’ll never make the same mistake.

Good luck to all of us!

wow Boggler, all three of us (me you and gunther) are in the same boat. Let’s commiserate!

Hi, I am on the waitlist. If I don’t get off I’ll go to JHU, although I kind of want to get z-listed, it would be nice to take a year off.

Everyone thinks our prestigious schools are just stupid state schools. I go to University of Washington, Boggler goes to Penn State, and qizixite goes to Chicago State (even though Illinois is the state). You can always defer, even off the waitlist, 1337pi. I called and was flat out told you can take a gap year if you get in off the waitlist. My plans for next year in Israel are already set.

updated! Welcome! we are at 94… Almost at 100

Wow, the 2013 waitlist thread didn’t get to page 41 until May 16. I guess the class of 2014 is just that much better.

yup boggler! We are awesome. But its kind of sad that about 90 of the posts are mine. Still, its better then stressing out on my own.

We are super awesome. And I am sure I posted at least 75 myself. Your extra ones are due to your mathiness.

@ qizixite: I like your term! And I’m wondering what the effects will be too. . . I assume it’ll mean things will drag on for longer than usual. I’m also wondering if people who were on multiple waitlists will run into trouble with the fact that some schools are making the calls much earlier than others.

@ gunther: I made the same calls as you. I’ll also be in Israel next year

@gunther6456: Thats awesome! I was supposed to also do a year in Israel, but I removed myself from the program because I wanted to be sure that I could go to Harvard if I got off the waitlist. Oh well…

Oh, that’s a shame, can you still get back in? What if you get Z-listed?

@gunther6456:I can always get back in, I was going to do a mahal program and most of those always need people

Its funny that the last three people to post are going to Israel next year… I wonder how many people on the wait list are also Jews.

Oh, that’s super cool. I have a bunch of friends joining the Israeli army.
