I want to forget about it, but I’d rather just know right now. It’s nice to know the yield but I wish this situation were a bit better for all of us. Props to those who guessed this correctly.

The WL selection meetings actually begin tomorrow. As others have pointed out, last year the first WL Admit phone calls were received on Tuesday May 19th. I stand by my post that the first round of phone calls this year will happen on Tuesday May 18th. We have a week to relax! AP’s are done now so it’s a movie night for me. Cheers, SD

From everything I’ve read, last year for the class of 2013 they announced their yield May 8th and started calling people off the waitlist on the 19th of May. I spoke to Harvard admissions Thursday May 6th and they said they were beginning that day to review the waitlistees. Today May 10th, they announced their yield but I don’t expect the calls to come two days later because the yield was announced 2 days later.

I really hope you’re right about these calls. I either want to get called then or get something in the mail ASAP telling me I’m rejected. I wish I could relax but I have to get back to school to finish my litmag.

Yeah let’s get this over with already!!! This process has dragged on for too long.

Yeah, I think acceptances will start coming next week. The article says “this coming week” is when the committee readjourns, which was probably quoted sometime this past weekend, so assuming they start today or tomorrow, I guess there won’t be too much time left 'til we know (though I wish it were sooner).

what was Harvard’s yield rate this year?

76% according to the Gazette article.

could you post the link?

[Yielding strong results | Harvard Gazette Online](Yielding strong results – Harvard Gazette)

Thanks!

Does anyone know how long the wait-list is?

Nope (tenchar).

We estimate between 600-1500 I guess.

Guys, 76% seems to be a very vague number; “the final yield will likely exceed last year’s mark of 76 percent” is all that is said about the yield. It could be slightly less, and it could be more. I wish the article was slightly more statistically relevant… Like last year’s article.

Maybe there will be a better article in the Crimson that comes out at midnight tonight?

If you are posting and are not on the master list, please say hello so you can be added! We already have 108 people and hope to get more!

Gunther: I don’t know why there would be another article. But hopefully!

Well the gazette and Crimson are separate publications and an article has been published in the Crimson the last two years I believe.

GOODENOUGH(CA)

Enrolled at Princeton.

gunther: I think the year before (three years ago) only the gazette published an article. hmmmmm.

I’ll check a little after midnight tonight I guess to see. We are expecting to exceed 76% seems super vague.
