The High School Sports Thread

ok- i am creating this thread because i realize that a lot of you don't get outside much. Actually, I think that it is safe to say some of you don't get out ever. So if you're not coming outside, outside is coming to you by storm(sort of like in The Birds).

this is the thread to talk about how your high school team is better than anything that has ever existed(with the exception of chocolate cake).

i go to a magnet school. we're terrible at most traditional sports like football

haha some people taunt us by saying our mascot is a ti-83 etc.

however, our crew team is sick, we've won nationals plenty of times, gone to worlds even.
our varsity xc team just won states
our soccer won states this past spring

but yeah in general our xc, track, crew, and tennis teams are strong.
i'm on varsity golf. we're average-ish in our district.

I play lacrosse.... we should be pretty good this year.

But on a completely unrelated note, jcrew, were u at exeter summer 2006 ?!??

lol no econner, what made you think so? i've only been to exeter once and that was when my sister (currently a senior at groton) and I were visiting boarding schools before we reached high school

lol people make fun of us and say that our mascots are ti-83's too! we are really good at xc though. pretty much suck at everything else.

Our football team makes it to the state champs game almost every year, and loses to the same team there almost every year. That team is currently on something like a 35 game winning streak right now. Scary. Our boys hockey team is defending two time state champs, but our girls team (which I'm on) sucks. Our field hockey teams wins states a lot. Besides that, our sports are so different depending on the year. But in general we're pretty good, I think. Oh and our system doesn't do anything higher than states (no nationals...? didn't actually know that had those in high school).

Our men's soccer team is really good, consistently winning the city championship and a few sectionals games.
Same goes for girls' team.
Our volleyball team has been undefeated for 24 years.
Our swim team has been undefeated for 12 years.
The track team is second in the city.
Crew goes to nationals.
Girls' Rugby goes to nationals.
Cross Country usually wins city championship.
Not too sure about hockey or basketball or bowling.

Our school sucks at Football. Ok at Basketball, lacrosse I heard was brutal. Guys Tennis is bad (hell, I'm on the tennis team). The only sports we're good at is Soccer (M and F), Waterpolo, X-Country, and Track and Field.

Our one Club sport, Hockey, is doing pretty bad in our first year together, but we're getting there.

Edit: Forgot to mention, our Baseball team is really really really good (or was the last few years).

School is 21 in the nation in Football! Would've been higher if they didn't lose by one point in overtime to our rival, whom we beat in the state finals!

our school has a sophomore d-end who is 6'5", 265, he is gonna go to a usc, texas, michigan, ou. he is on rivals.com top 10 class of 2010 recruits. he is a beast that is the best defensive player in dallas/ft.worth. however, the coach is a loser who just collects his playoff bonus, and then we lose in the 1st round, I mean we lost 5 games by a combined 25 points, he sucks at coaching in clutch situations. we had the no.2 in the state (no.20 team in the nation at the time) on the ropes but he makes crappy offensive play calls (as in west coast offense all the time-no bombs, just gay little short passes to the sideline) and we lose by three. i hate our coach. oh yeah there are other sports in tx high school that matter, just not as much as football. our basketball team is really good so far. cross country team has been to at least regionals for a couple years, tennis team owned the state trophy for four years until this year. golf team is good, advanced to state the past couple of years. baseballs pretty good.

oh yeah and congrats jenkster to jenks beating tulsa union. if only those teams could be in texas, then we would monopolize the hs football nation. i'm so glad southlake carroll lost tho, those little pricks need to grow up and stop whining. that abilene lb put little crybaby riley dodge on the texas stadium turf last friday. hate to say it but i'm going for our rivals, plano senior high, to win it all this year.

oh and we dont have crew or fencing or tiddlywinks either, and no one cares about lacrosse or hockey b/c none of them get recruited

Our water polo team pretty much kills, they've gone to states a lot the last couple of years.
Tennis is pretty good, why have some really high ranked individual players
Soccor ussualy wins city.

TX football just seems scary.

Football-Go to State Championships every year, bunch of NFL and College Players from our school

Boys Basketball-County/Regional Champs

Girls Basketball- Don't know their awards but we have a great team, we have had 2 or 3 players go to the WNBA

Wrestling- We've had some county championships a while ago, we're okay now

repping varsity golf...hellz yeah, 3 years biatches

Our volleyball team has been undefeated for 24 years.
Our swim team has been undefeated for 12 years.

... Is that even possible..? Lol, not even the most naive person would believe that, no offense, unless you mean that undefeated in a certain district title or something small like that.

Anyways, our school pretty much suchs at everything (baseball, volleybal, etc) but were decent in soccer & basketball.

^ of course thats believable, some schools just kick *** at certain sports. they probably just have some really good coach or a continuous stream of great talent

Our fencing team is really good.
...that is the only thing I know about our school sports. Because I am on that team. Haha.

hey- i joined the winter track teams, and my legs haveve been really really sore- does anybody have advice on how i could make them not feel like jello?

Run more. Sorry...your legs just have to get used to it.

Our Football team beat the 21st ranked team in the country a few weeks back. who happens to be our inner city rivals. Catholic school kids vs. public school. Us catholic school kids won. The crowds were crazy....tons of security.

our girls Volleyball won districts this year
Our soccer team won districts this year
Our softball and baseball teams won districts the last 2 years
Our boys volleyball team won districts last yr I think

we can't win any state titles though.
