The Home Stretch

So spring break is over (mine atleast) and we have 7 weeks left. Driving into campus was really depressing today, but my applications are all finally in! So now all there is to do is wait and I'm worried about getting in to any schools I applied to. How is everyone handling the last weeks of your current school?? I feel like it's going to be tough, just like it has been all year....so let's support each other because I know I need it.

im so ready to get the hell out of my college. i will receive my first decision next thursday or friday (march 30-31). i dont want to go back to school tomorrow :(

Yeah, 6 weeks for me!! Although I have to stay a week after for the rowing season...But man, after a almost 2 years, I'm really ready to leave. I guess it's a good thing; can't say we didn't give it the ol' college try (pardon my pun).
Is it really sad that I was considering making a paper ring chain to count down the days?

trace - I'm just as ready as you are...but hey, only one week left and then you're set for next year! I have to wait until May 15...looong time

Ella - I love the paper ring chain idea...lol...I want to count it down too because of how horrible this place is, but I'm trying my best to not think about it.

I only have 6 weeks of classes left.
The waiting game isn't so bad for me. Btw the earliest I hear from a school is May then late May is the clincher for me.
I really hate the waiting game, but not much I can do except hope for the best.
Best of luck to all you awaiting admission decisions!!

Same, I have 6 weeks of classes and a week of spring break. School gets out first week of May and I'll get my decisions starting from around the end of April to the end of May. Atleast by then, I'll have all my school work finished, but it's gonna be wierd taking the finals and all without knowing where you're gonna go afterwards.

Sigh, school till mid-May for me; I didn't even realize so many schools end so much earlier.

I didn't realize that either. My spring break isn't until mid April either.

Many schools mail out decisions early; Rice, for instance, e-mailed their applicants on April 29th – a far cry from the May 15th notification date – and I believe Yale also notified their applicants early.

I wonder if any UCs have ever been early?

For Georgetown, letters were sent as soon as the decision was made.

The best aspect about Georgetown's transfer application process is that all applications are committeed.

A bit OT, but UC apps are graded very informally. My friend's mentor is also an adcom this year for UCSD. For the online apps, she just scans them on the website, takes about 20min., then makes a decision.

I hate that so many schools in California start and end so late. I go til June 9th. I think I'd much rather start in early August and end before Memorial Day. I wonder why that is though?

I have 11 weeks left and just 4 classes (2 for the units/2 required). My timing of these classes was really bad, in retrospect I should have taken one of them over winter. Nevertheless, I finish these (at this point Bs, maybe Cs, are okay) and I am out of cc with my aa. I'm just mentally and physically tired. The end is near and I don't want to lose my motivation, but definitely feel it slipping away. Hoping a decision from one of the universities I applied to will help me regain the drive to earn As.

Good luck to us all!

june 9th? ouch..

anyways, 6 more weeks of classes left and 2 weeks of finals for me.
the waiting game sure is tough, but what can we do.. :]

No, the waiting game is not tough. Rejection period is tough.

good point janel.

The year here officially ends on the 15th of May; however, I think I finish my exams on the third.

Oh, and as janel so gracefully reminded me: Georgetown is in the Sweet 16.

Wooo.

Since I do not drink, I shall consume tapioca from my bubble tea in celebration.

yeah, rejections should be alot of fun...all that work for nothing, great...now I'm sad
