The Homestretch!

I was looking at my 2013 calendar yesterday and thought about the craziness of the college audition season. Weekends spent in the car (often traveling through ice and snowstorms) for an auditon that seemed to take only minutes, gallons of throat coat and hand sanitizer to ward off illness, worrying about whether my son would get into any school yet alone a great school, thinking that this roller coaster of activity, stress, high emotions (mine!) would ever end. I would not trade those experiences for the world. If you are on the audition circut - enjoy it. Enjoy the time spent on the road with your soon to be college freshman, realize that your child is good enough and will get into the program that is PERFECT for them, and once the big decision of where to go to school has been made...enjoy this time with your kiddo! The kids that go into MT are some of the most dedicated, talented, kindest kids I have ever met - and they are a joy to hang out with!

Know that the parents that have made this journey before you are cheering you and your kids on!!! You are in the homestretch! enjoy every crazy moment of it!!!

Amen!
(They really do need to create a “like” button for CC!)

I agree, total LIKE. Thanks, MT17WSU and all those who have boldly gone before!

MT17WSU - couldn’t say it any better. CC was so helpful to us last year. Just hope we’ve been able to help even one family this year with this crazy process. Wishing all of this year’s applicants a fantastic audition season. Can’t wait to see where everyone decides to go!

We started the audition circuit in November. On our way to CCM today we talked about how that seems like a year ago already! Strange how much calmer we are. We still reviewed our checklist as we packed the car. I set the alarm for 7 and dosed off watching the news until GSOMT text me to have a safe trip lol. Might have been late without it. 4 auditions ago sleeping wasn’t an option lol. S has. Friend at CCM she’s picking him up for dinner at 6. My parents are young, in their early 60s they made the trip to check out the casino nearby (important factor should he get accepted lol). I already wouldn’t trade this time. I rarely have my S to myself anymore. For those of you just starting your journey it really does calm down quickly!

Just got settled into another hotel, the last of my D auditions and was feeling a bit wistful remembering long ago November, like you MTMajorCook. We can pack a suitcase like no other and I will miss this time of the journey ( never thought I would say that). Thanks to everyone’s support on this site it has been made that much more exciting, pleasurable, tolerable at times, and FUN! MTMajorCook I hope you find a donut and to everyone else out there … Break a Leg! LIke button pushed oh so many times!

Looks like a “like” button came with the new upgrade. Now if we can just figure out the rest of this…

I can’t find how to just see new unread posts. And my iPhone app isn’t working yet. But, I do like the like button!

Next to the thread there will be a little icon that says unread reply…

I am starting to figure it out. Didn’t dawn on me that the update would "lose my place on all threads. As I’m reading, it’s now taking me to the first unread on threads I’ve looked at since the update. I would love for the app to work again.
