The Honors College

I was accepted to LSA last Thursday (so relieved, good luck to everyone!), and I was just wondering when and how you know if you are invited to participate in the honors program?

They send an e-mail from LSA Honors after your acceptance if you are invited to apply.

Do you know how soon after?

LSA sends emails to those who they feel are most “qualified” for the program. However, everyone can apply. Information on this topic can be found here:

[Honors - University of Michigan](http://www.lsa.umich.edu/honors/prospectivestudents)

My honors e-mail came about a week after the acceptance e-mail. Don’t go by that though. I got in the first round of acceptances so they probably didn’t have so many apps to look through.

Wait, so a honors email goes out only to “qualified” applicants?

No, I got in and never got an email.

I see. In any case, I did get the email although quantitatively my stats are rather bad (due to a dismal freshman year)

@srrinath: so you got the email about a week after, as well? did you get accepted this past round or two rounds ago? i can’t remember, lol.

I applied to the Honors College before they sent me the email, lol. All you need to do is shoot them an email to the address mentioned on the HC site, and express your interest in applying. They’ll follow up with subsequent instructions.

i got the email about three days after acceptance, so it can vary.
