<p>That is a horrible mistake in judgment by those parents, especially since their goal is simply fame and glory for their son.</p>
<p>Seriously...that is just, wow. I mean, imagine if it had gone wrong...</p>
<p>That is such an extreme example of bad judgment that I wonder in what other ways the parents have used bad judgment in their medical careers.</p>

<p>When I saw MotherDear's post, I assumed it was an Eagle scout using his Swiss Army knife in the remote woods in a dire emergency. This story is very distrubing!</p>

<p>Even smart people Do REALLY STUPID THINGS. </p>
<p>I'm sure this doctor no matter how smart medically he is never considered the outcome of having his son perform a surgery. </p>
<p>There are more rainman's out there than you would expect.</p>
<p>My saving grace as a parent is that my kids listen to my life experiences, my mistakes and learn not to repeat them. I could never help them with chemistry, but suriving daily life, I'm pretty good.</p>
