The 'How I Ended Up With a B+' Thread

ECON201 Principles of Macro-Economics
I had an high A going into the final, but for the life of me don't know how I'd possibly screwed up so badly on the final. No I lied, actually I do. I didn't look over the old exams. Should've done them. FML

GEOL120 Environmental Geology
I would've gotten an A had I gone on the extra credit trip. I did sign up for it, even paid $17 for my spot on the bus, but overslept on that day. FML

ECON321 Economic Statistics
89.35%. Nuff said. FML

This thread is for dispelling the inner slackers in all of us overachievers. Please share. Thank you.

LOL

GEOL 101 - It was actually the highest grade in the class, which says it all, really.

I got a C+ in an intro class because the Professor was insane, simple as that.

But since I got a 4.0 otherwise, my GPA is still 3.7+ this semester and my cul. will go higher once I get another 4.0 semester next semester.

Aight, the C+ folks are officially welcome to join in.

How insane? Like ‘giving out pop exams that count for 40% of your grade’ insane? Yup, I had one of those.

My school doesn’t have B+'s but we got AB’s.

Mass media and Society - I attended every class but my participation grade was still only an 80% even though the class was always half full, the participation grade was 20% of the total, my exams total was 97%. We had one paper where I got 90% (my other lowest score). My overall was 94%, but this professor decided to make it 95+ for an A, so I got an AB.

My school doesn’t have B+ or AB, just straight A, B, C, D, F.

After getting into UCLA one of my grades went from an A to a B, another from a B to a C.

Differential Equations <- B+

Had an A until final and should’ve ended up with an A because I had a great teacher.
Didn’t study for the final hard enough and got like 75 on it. ■■■

Intro to Linguistics - I didn’t care. I had more important things to do. I slept in class a lot and spent only 1 hour a week outside of class. I’m pretty happy with my result, this class was very low on my priority list.

No B+ grades at my school, but one of my grades dropped from a solid 3.5 to a 3.0 after doing awful on my final for international political economy :frowning: the sad thing is, I took the honors option for that class (several class meetings, leading class discussion and a 5 page paper) and it counts for absolutely nothing because my department has a policy that they will not give honors credit to students who don’t receive a 3.5+ grade…oh well!

Haha, I approve of this thread. I love it when professors mess with the standard grading scale –> 91.9% = B+.

The only reason I ever get B+ or lower is because I chronically neglect work in a class.

General Genetics: B+. It probably didn’t help that I didn’t go to class half the time, it was too early in the morning.

Biological Safety (a 1 unit class): A-, because apparently a 96.4% is an A-…

Professions in Biology (a .5 unit class): B, There was only 4 class meetings during the whole semester and just about the same number of homework assignments. I forgot to turn one in because the due date was some random arbitrary day no where near a class meeting time…

Conservation Management: Currently waiting for my grade, but its either a B or a C. Probably didn’t help that I was doing Sudoku puzzles during the VAST majority of classes… sorry teach, but you were really boring and totally scatterbrained. :(

Japanese, got B+…yuuuuup. I suppose I expected this outcome, though. They don’t show percentages at our school, what you get is what you get.

“The only reason I ever get B+ or lower is because I chronically neglect work in a class.”

Ditto. No matter how hard I try to justify it, I cannot come up with a reason behind leaving a whole semester’s worth of calc homework for the last week…, along with bio-lab reports… and english essays

I am such a filthy procrastinator. lol

“But since I got a 4.0 otherwise, my GPA is still 3.7+ this semester and my cul. will go higher once I get another 4.0 semester next semester.”
exact same situation here

B+… what’s that? My grades spell out similar to the sound someone makes when jumping off a cliff :)

HUM 201.02.D (Film Genres)

I would have gotten an A-, but I didn’t notice which type of insects were in the opening sequence of the movie The Big Sleep which resulted in a B+.

ANP 120.01.E (Introduction to Physical Anthropology)

I would have gotten a B+, but I couldn’t identify primates by the minor differences in some species’ skeletal remains, thereby flunking my lab practical and resulting in a C+.

WRT 102.71.A (Intermediate Writing Workshop A)

I would have gotten an A, but I didn’t do any homework all semester long, which would have resulted in roughly 5 hours/week additional work. So, I pulled through with a B. Somehow.

You mean “FDFDFDFDFDFDFDFDFDFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!oneoneoneoneone”?

BUS-X 204 (Business Communications)

In a class of 24 students, the instructor gave 21 B+s. I asked him about it and he said the class average was supposed to be around a 3.3 (so he decided to give everyone a 3.3).

eecs 280 data struct B+
because not address enough time for programming projects and screw that up.
eecs 370 comp org. B+
because not address enough time for programming projects and screw that up.
eecs 281 B-
because not address enough time for programming projects and screw that up. and thought i have one extra late when i did not.

Usually, I obtain A. Occasionally but I A. obtain a little at times. Usually, because I me make chronically the tip extending, this is done. However, frequently, my class suffers from the standard whose anus teacher is ridiculous.
