The "how The heck Did I Get This Score" Thread

How did I get a 5 on Spanish Lang? The class was an absolute joke, my informal speaking was a disaster, the rest of my frq's were not up to par (in my opinion)...must have been the mc?

About rescoring likelihood of changing scores: it's probably really unlikely, but I'd try it if you really want it.

I was expecting a 1 on both Physics C tests. I had a terrible teacher, and I didn't remember a thing. Turns out I got a 3 in Mech and a 2 in E/M. Hey, it's better than a 1!

About the Gov't exam: if you look on college board, it has one of the lowest percentages of people getting five's (besides say Eng. Lang.) so if a lot of people thought it was easy it is probably likely they raised the curve. Although, I have to say most of the people in my class worked to bring down the curve, haha. I thought it was relatively easy, but wasn't sure about my score. I got a 5 thought. But, I think I did pretty well on the 2nd FRQ on the court cases because my teacher was obsessed with court cases.

Anyway, my surprise: 5 on Comparative Gov't. I self-studied this the DAY before the exam, just reading through the review book. Seriously, I did nothing else. I got on the test and did alright on the MC, but the FRQ...oh my. On one of them I completely and utterly made up some stuff (some of it was accurate though)...so I guess you could say my opinion on the difficulty of the exam changed radically after I got my score. haha.

Macroecon: 4. That was a big surprise too. We had the same teacher "teach" us for econ as for gov't. Let me be clear, he is not an economics teacher adn doens't really nkow anything about econ. Basically, we taught our class (he assigned us sections in the book and we presented) and tested using the tests from the book...yep. Pretty scary. I think most of the class probably failed, heh. They seriously had no clue (I was the only one getting A's on the tests).

Coola - no, the ruling was that religious people still have to follow the same rules as everyone else. As a religion they don't get special privileges all to themselves.

Oh wow... so that's how I messed up... didn't know what that was.. I thought I knew better, haha.
I definitely 0'ed that FR then.. with a few other mistakes here and there.. that's probably how my score got to be what it was, lol.

Biology: I had a horrible teacher who only showed movies that had nothing to do with what we were supposed to be studying. None of my classmates knew any of the material, so he curved like all his tests (this girl and I almost always set the curve) During the AP exam almost everyone gave up and went to sleep in the middle of the exam because they didn't know the material....
So I basically self-studied for the exam...and I got a %! Thanks CliffsAP!!

AP English Language...totally thought I would get a 2

my MC was alright

but essays were where i really bombed

My synthesis was alright..nothing special...perhaps a 6 at best.
My rhetorical analysis was subpar..i think I was off track a lot...4-5 maybe?
And my Essay #3 suckeddddd...i had no examples...i just threw in John Locke for no apparent reason..it was terrible..it just restated the question basically. A 1 or 2 at best!

But haha turns out I got a 5 somehow!!!! LMAO

I wrote an entire essay on the wrong Roosevelt; a stupid testing mistake because I knew an equal amount of info about the other one. I was convinced that I screwed myself over because of that but I still managed to get a 5... whew!

wow dude u must have aced the MC. I think my friend mixed up the Q on the Great Awakening

Check if the schools you are going to accept CLEP credits. If your AP score does not quite give you the credit try taking the CLEP for the course if offered. They are a bit easier the pass score is 50 (out of 80) and you get the grade as soon as you complete the exam. It is worth the $60 gamble. My son CLEPped 15 credits. He never even took US History 1 and from "my prospective" the amount of self study he did was minimal. He clepped out of English Comp and Lit with no studying AFAIK

Latin: Vergil - I got a 4 but had expected a 2 or a 3 (at best!). I took the course as an independent study as my school does not offer it. I did manage to finish all of the material but I did not feel as though I knew it well enough to score well on the exam.

One thing I don't understand, after reading about some of the scores here, is how SO MANY people received a 5 on AP English Language. I was under the impression that the Language test had the smallest percentage of 5 scorers, but virtually everyone that I've looked at on these boards has gotten the highest score.

Is it because College Confidential is a snapshot of some of the best, or highest-scoring, students? Or is it that the test was just straight-up easy this year? Just curious.

chem...thought i had a sure 5, but got a 4

pfierce: it's because CC is damn smart

Really thought I had a shot at a 5 in Chem. ended up with a 4.
Joked around on the Bio exam, one of my FR I wrote a letter to the scorer, ended up with a 3...that was pretty crazy.
Still waiting on Calc AB and US Govt.

Hahah, count me in! Only 4 years of Spanish (2 high school and 2 middle school) and I got a 4 on AP Spanish! Hahahahah.

When I found out I got a 4 on US History, I peed myself because I was 99.9% sure that I was going to get a 1 or 2! I totally only wrote one big paragraph for both of my essays and BS'd my DBQ... I really must've gotten all the MC questions correct in order to get a 4. Wow, I'm still peeing myself from just thinking about it. XD

maybe you need to use the restroom.

i came out of english lit thinking ****....i think i got a 4

and i goooottt
a 4

i came out of US history thinking cool, easy 5
and i gooootott

i came out of bio thinking eh prolly a 5
and i goooot

im dissapointed with the 4...

I was shocked by Calc AB cause I got a 5. that was a major surprise.

eng lang = 5

***? u dont know my teacher hahaha

My Gov score sucked. a 3. Almost positive I had a 4....
