The "how The heck Did I Get This Score" Thread

I got a 3 on AP Lit, and I didn't write ANY of the essays, I just drew pictures and wrote song lyrics. Apparently, I'm good at multiple choice...

5 on Chem. Froze and bombed the FR.

Must've aced the MC, I guess.

We're going down swinging, I wonder what they think when they open essay booklets like yours and see drawings. I know someone who did this on World, though.

They probably think, "Thank God, I can finally look at something entertaining after 5 hours of reading essays has made me want to poke my eyeballs out with a fork." :)

They're either amused or feel insulted.

Bio- I struggled on mutliple choice, could not do most of one FRQ, and know I got part of another FRQ wrong

And got a 5 :-)

In response to we'regoingdown_swinging, they really don't have time to look at those, so the response is really, "Thank God I can just score this a 'dash' and move on to the next one."

They have a separate score of a 'dash' that's different from a zero on a FR question. The zero means "content tried, no points earned". The 'dash' means "content not even tried".

I'm really happy with my scores, but the one test that I was almost sure I got a 5 in (Psych) ended up being a 4. I did manage 5's in Lang, Bio, and U.S History though, so it's all good.

My Comp Sci teacher told us that she generally enjoys people's stories.

"I got a 2 on APUSH even though I got a 800 on the SAT 2 which I took the week before.

RESCORE!!!"

Do you have bad handwriting? It's possible that if you do they couldn't score your essays because they couldn't read them.

As for me, no real surprises. I expected 5s and got 5s. I did well in the classes and studied hard.

Satisfaction: My teacher for AP English Lang/Comp was worthless, and I walked out of that exam thinking I made like a 2 at best, but it turns out I got a 4. On the other hand...
Disappointment: I guess I was a little narcissistic, but I figured I'd walk away from AP Art-Drawing with at least a 4 if not a 5, but unfortunately I got a 3. A 3! I was like ***!? Ah well, I suppose it was rather subjective for an AP program. But, for consolation, I think I've qualified for one of those AP awards. (I also got a 5 on European History, so I was pleased overall).

how the **** did I get a four on the AP US history test? I was the most prepared for that test, got an A in the class, etc...

Never opened american pageant...never payed attention in class...got C's and D's on all the tests in class...tried speed reading AMSCO the night before the test...got a 5 on APUSH...***...

At least I got an A in that class and you didn't

calc- i knew the first frq and blindly guessed on everything else w/o knowing what i did and i got a 5
i love m/c :)

So... why was that comment necessary? ^^^

AP US: 5, expected a 4 (last essay did not go well)
AP Chem: 4, expected a 3 (crappy textbook at school, teacher did the best he could, but the FRQs were hard, so totally relieved)
AP Psych: 4, expected a 5 (don't really know what happened, such an easy test)
AP English: took late, so still waiting

chem--got a 4 and totally expected a 5--amazing teacher and good grades!!

C'EST LA VIE.

now that 2 on e&m...

for BC
omg i actually left like 10+ mc blank, could not do an entire fr, guessed on the rest except #1, and got a 5

but i got a 4subscore LOL btw do colleges get the subscore as well?

and for bio... i thought i failed... but i got a 5... so i was shocked and very happy

I got a 5 on the AP USH!
I totally screwed up on one of my essays. (mixed up Shay's rebellion for the whiskey rebellion)

Jasonlee, I can tell you how you got your score: you did good! I don't think that's considered a major mistake (they have sheets that tell the graders what not to take points off for, that might even be on there). I'd assume that's a common mistake, and the fact that you know about both of them (switching names but still getting details right) proves you have knowledge of both.
