the humanities at rice

how is the humanities department at rice (esp. the english, politics, and history departments)? Correct me if i am wrong, but isnt rice concentrated more in the sciences?
also, do many students pursue prelaw/end up going to law school afterwards?

Lots to law school, but there is no "prelaw" major. Somewhere on the Rice website you'll see the number of students they graduate in each major. I think you'll be surprised at the numbers.

Humanities are very very strong. I am an English major and have amazing professors and absolutely love the program. I also have a lot of friends in other fields such as history and they really like it as well.

Tons of people go from Rice to law school. Eighteen alone were sent to Harvard Law for the 2006-2007 year.

surprised in what sense

I meant surprised at how balanced Rice is in the majors it graduates. Many assume that Rice is all science and engineering students!

pilebay i think that is for all 3 years. also, i was told English is the most popular major.

alright thanks everybody :-)
i swear,i'm starting to love rice more and more each day! really hope i get in!
and its good to hear that the english dept is very strong (that is what i want to major in)

Any student board or club on the internet for rice students?
I looked for it for more vivid, indirect experience but I can't find any.......

Could anyone post the link for the student profile in Rice?
