<p>TheCaliforniaLife - sorry I didn't see your message sooner. My Irvine decision was based somewhat on cost - I got Regents and pretty much a full ride. I also like the Literary Journalism major - seemed more practical and worth it than Rhetoric at Cal. The city is safer and cleaner, and campus housing is cheaper. Several more factors too... I didn't like majors at UCLA and I didn't like the no-housing at UCSD. The only tough one to decline was Cal, but I'm glad with my decision and really excited to start Irvine summer classes.</p>
