The "I got accepted but am not going" Thread!

So, for those of you that got accepted but for one reason or another aren't going (financial aid, other school, etc) POST HERE! It'll give the waitlisted some hope.

Me: Accepted with 14,000 a year total aid :/ I will not be attending Hopkins.

Thanks eliz53 for such a great thread. It gives us hopefuls some strength.

That's probably me.

probably me, i got a likely to penn!

Possibly. Depends on cornell for me at this point

Cornell over Hopkins? Really? it's 3x the size and c-c-c-c-cold!

I probably won't go if I don't get into their BME program...But after fin aid and all that, my cost of attending will be about $19,000, 2k more than my in state school. That makes it more appealing.

I got $40,281 a yr grant/aid, but will not be attending Hopkins.
Probably going to MIT (scholarship/award = 39,968/yr), still waiting for Harvard, and will go with the cheaper one.
Best of luck to all of those who got waitlisted!!

I plan to have all my decisions before I decide but if I get in Mudd or off the Caltech waitlist then I'd likely not go to Hopkins, otherwise it's about 25% to 50% (Cornell's my unknown there) that I'd choose Hopkins.

Im going to MIT. You can have my spot :-)

I'm probably not going. I got 19,800 in grants from JHU and 32,000 in grants from UChicago. I can't justify the extra 12,200 dollars/year.

I'm probably not going, I'm going BME and even though it's the best program in the nation, I'm in at Duke and absolutly love the school. Anybody have any reasons for JHU over Duke other than the BME program?

I am probably not going either. I'm only getting 6000 in aid and I want to hear back from Harvard/Princeton. Their decisions will then determine my next move in terms of secondary/post-secondary education.

What a worthless thread.

choosing Stanford over JHU
