Level 4 (My 800 writing GREATLY inflates that though, 1310 without)

Georgetown School of Foreign Service (and they don't even look at writing!)

I did a 32 on the ACT, though. The SAT is not all it's cracked up to be.

aky: thanks for clarifying :)

tlesc: congrats!!! GU is an amazing school, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time there!

hey guys since when was 2100-2290 considered a low score. It is above the 90th percentile. I think the last level should be level 3 or at max a 2200. I cant see many people getting into great colleges with level 3's. this actually would be depressing many people. I mean you guys are like " hey I got into yale with ONLY a 2260". WOW

That's why you post the level: so you can take it for what its worth. If you think a 2230 is a very high score, just look at the ones below it. Self-select the ones you want to look at, there are tons of people who have posted with scores below 2200.

Level 4 - 2130! Into Tufts ED!

awesome Big!!! Tufts has an extraordinary reputation.

moizuhk: case in point ^^^ ;)

Lol its still level 4. but anyway, i get your point

Level 2 (670/560/660)

ED: Chicago, and doing great there. 3.7 GPA and in the <1% of incoming freshmen to be invited into Honors Analysis. SAT == BS.

moizuhk: It's a 2130. If you want miracle admits where people are getting into HYPS with less than a 2000, I encourage you to start your own thread.

phuriku: Congratulations! UC is an excellent institution, and I'm glad you're having a great time there.

vc08 take it easy. I was just joking, thats why the "lol".

no offense given, no offense taken :)

I just have a question for ya'll! Is class rank more important than standardized test scores? Let's say, you are #1 out of 360 students at your school, and you get a 2200-2300. How far along does that put you in the admissions process? Sorry if this does not exactly pertain to this 'post' but I just joined today! Thank you!

That would put you in serious running for Harvard.

Yea, both being #1 and a 2300 on the sat are very good, good enough that you can consider ivy's.

in Dartmouth ED w/ a low level 3

awesome destined! that's a great school!

Level 3: Stanford Acceptance. UC Davis, UCSB Automatic Acceptance
booyah. But I really have just got to be really grateful for getting in.
Pending: UCLA, Cal

curious to know if there were other factors that you think got you in? like minority, started your own business, first to go to college, etc.

If any of you would give that info, I would be very interested. have one more to go thru this process and would like to know what factors might have pushed to over to the acceptance side?

2007: believe mercruz was minority and first to attend college (from Stanford thread).

As for myself, I'm your basic white, middle-class kid, my parents are college grads, but of Cal-state schools (not UC or anything). My brother is an English/Poli Sci major at Berkeley, and I had him read over my essays. It was totally worth it. He gave me some great advice, and even told me to start over on one-but it turned out much better after I re-wrote it. So if there is a teacher, college student, etc. that can read over the essays, I highly suggest it. I also attended 2 leadership conferences, and led teams/caucuses through them, which makes great substance for an essay. I think my leadership (capt. of various teams at high levels) and essays really did it for me. Good luck!

Wow vc you have a pretty nice brother mine just beats me up.
