3.17 at NE? There is hope for me. This thread is so encouraging. Realistic students go to college too!

Level 4: (my school doesn't calculate GPA but I'd guess its around 3.3)

Accepted: UMich Ann Arbor, Elon University, and Bowdoin College

Still waiting on like 10 more schools....I was an athletic recruit to Bowdoin though so my GPA may not have been a huge factor in the decision.

3.4 G.P.A.

(Drexel University half paid tuition, Winston Salem State, and University of Pittsburgh from out of state. Accepted for Spring 2010 and wait listed for Fall 2009, it is still an acceptance though.)

I have a 2.9-3.0ish and I'm into Washington College with money, Earlham College, Guilford with money, Beloit, ASU, Evergreen, Emmanuel w/money, Warren Wilson and Mount Holyoke!

Still waiting to hear back from a lot... I applied to WAY too many schools because I thought I'd get in nowhere!

I like this thread a lot.

Sticky sticky sticky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 3.7 GPA,
and I got into Brandeis and RPI.

How much would one C+ in freshman year affect my applications? :(

^ it won't really, at all.

level 4/5 (3.42)

Now Included: USC(SC) & FSU

Coming Soon (hopefully): Penn & UGA

Wow Carnegie Mellon with a 3.4? Thats amazing.

Not from where I live. Our school has pretty insane grade deflation, so our vale has a 3.78 UW and people regularly get it with 3.3-3.6 gpas.

oh well nvm then.

3.6666 Pepperdine!

I only know my weighted gpa but unweighted it should be around 3.4-3.7.
I got into UCLA!

3.4/1990 Accepted: Villanova!!!

Grade inflation is so scary. At my school, anyone in level 4 or 5 can pretty much get into an IVY or one of the best Liberal Arts schools. I know people with 3.6 or 3.7's who've gotten into Yale.

How exactly does a school inflate grades? I am aware of what grade weighting is, but what is grade inflation?
