The "I Got in without a 3.7+ GPA" club

Level 5: 3.68 at the time of application. (Though my school uses an unweighted grade system out of 100, not out of 4.0 so it was 92 out of 100). Got in to Penn.

Its kind of sad how tone deaf people are on this forum.

DD has combined SATs of 1590 (but she’s not English mother tongue ad spent first three years of high school in an art school in Venice, Italy).

GPA level 4 until senior year (but senior year grades are much better)

ECs average

Kick ass essay and great recommendations

Applied RD to:

Cornell (legacy)
SUNY Purchase
SUNY Geneseo
CUNY Baruch and Hunter

Unweighted Level 5…was a 3.7 but then got a C in calc AB so…it’s 3.6 ish now?

this thread is cool to read…glad to know we dont have to have like 6.9 on a 4.0 scale

I am joining so I can hear what happens with the new group waiting for acceptances for Fall 2012. Good luck everyone.

Level 5, 3.5 exactly haha.

Accepted to W&M OOS; 2340 SAT and 4 AP test fives will do that for one, I suppose.

Shameless bump. More of us low-GPA kids need a morale booster  hopefully I’ll be able to add my own list to this thread 3 months from now

Gah, I’ve missed joining this club by just a few decimals. XD

Good luck to everyone!

3.6 1990 Emory

3.514 GPA, 2160 SAT
UMich LSA (OOS)
University of St Andrews

Reasons: I go to a competitive private school that practices pretty intense grade deflation. A lot of kids with my academic profile from my school could probably make it into almost all school ranked below the top 25 National Universities.

3.3 GPA 29 ACT
Got into Loyola-New Orleans
Univ of Portland
UAB
Univ of Alabama- Most likely will attend, unless one of my uber reaches comes through w/ lots of $$$ in April.
