The "I'm going to be a materialistic capitalistic trader." Thread.

Well this is the new thread that was promised on another thread, and it’s actually happening. This is our time to be really shallow, materialistic, and capitalistic business students. We’re going to play a game. We’re going make predictions on what we’ll be doing 20 years from now. :D

Well, here’s the format: username, age, job title, job location, education, net worth, location, other summerhome locations, comments. Then you add your name and spiel to the bottom of the roster.

So I’ll start first:

IhateCA
-Age: 37
-Job title: Hedge Fund Partner
-Job Location: Wall St, New York, NY
-Education: BS(finance) at NYU, MBA at the Wharton School of Business
-Net Worth: $250MM in real estate holdings and other assets
-Location: Greenwich,CT and London,England
-Other Locations: West Palm Beach,FL/Palm Springs,CA/Easthampton,NY/Aspen,CO
-Comments: I also drive a maserati and have a private Gulfstream Jet. I’m donating $50MM to Brown University so they can start a business school. I habitually throw lavish parties (catered by the Four Seasons Hotel) at my 10000sqft contemporary mansion in Greenwich.

man you're one weird kid.

I can assure you that if you are going to be immoral you aren't going to get far. In a business where exchanges of large amounts occur in under a second, trust is a huge factor.

And please, a maserati?! ;)

We can just be materialistic and shallow and capitalistic then.

ROFL, doesnt hurt to imagine, so here goes =)

Name: iloveants
-Age: 35
-Job title: Director of international investments & finance for J&E Group (#5 on Forbes top 10 companies)
-Education: BS(economics) at UCI, MBA at the Haas Business School, CAL
-Net Worth: ^$550 Million USD
-Location: Newport Beach, CA/New York, NY/Malibu
-Comments: I like to watch movies on the 72' HDTV as well as take my BMW M3 Coupe for joy rides on the local airstrip (which i own of course)

hah

No need for shallow either. The intellectual depth of the wealthiest person that I have had contact with is pretty amazing. Heck he even completed a PhD in philosophy.

Ok, then just materialistic.

Capitalist. Now thats something to admire.

this thread is ridiculous. no one is going to reach those types of positions at that age. The top guys at every level age range from 45-55 years old.

why don't we call this thread = if donald trump was my dad or if i had a genie in a bottle i'd....

Works with me!

Wow, you guys are hardcore.

I'm sure ihateca meant for it as a joke..... :D

"if money is your driving force, you won't make any. If you focus on whats important, money just starts pouring in as a "side effect"

People reach those positions at that age... don't talk out of your ass if that's all you're doing.

I can think of several off the top of my head.
Go look up Edward Lampert, Steven Cohen, and Kenneth Griffin.

Oh and the largest hedge fund start up ever (3B) was by a guy who was 36.

But, yes, these guys are not idiots. Incredibly intelligent and most importantly very driven.

It was the largest start up but Meyer did a 6B after getting out of HMC.

One more tidbit...salary.
