The Importance of Courseload?

I plan on transferring to a UC school (preferably UC Berkeley) from Community College. My grades will be a 4.0, I'll have the 60+ transferable units and some solid EC's.

The problem is, my courseloads are a little light-- not many units per semester because I spaced it out so broadly (ie I took classes in senior year of high school, took summer courses)

Is this going to be a problem? Do these UC schools really scrutinize courseload?

To be a full time student you have to take at least 12 units, which is three classes.

What I was told was a transfer student only has 8 quarters to finish their their graduation requirements, and once those 8 quarters are up you have to petition the school if you want to stay longer.

Most people I know take 3-4 four unit classes a quarter.

hmmm i am only taking 9 units (3 classes), and I took 15 units last semester (5 classes). I don’t understand why people load up on classes when they have so much time. I don’t want to be penalized for spreading out the units!

Do you mean for admissions?

No they dont care. GPA + Units + PreReqs are all that matters.

Ok, I was hoping it wouldn’t be a problem because I am only part-timing at school now.
