I come from a school with tough grading policies, 92 + is A, 83 + is B, etc

My GPA is a 3.2 UW (I estimate) and I take ALL AP classes and have since JR year. The most difficult schedule possible.

Senior Courses:
AP Calc AB
AP Spanish
AP English
AP Economics
AP Statistics
AP Physics
AP Government

The problem is I failed Calc 1st Quarter. 2nd Quarter I could pull it up to a C, but I am still very worried that the Mid year report will doom me.
Other quarterly grades are all Cs basically except for 2 Bs which i will pull up to all Bs by the midyear report.

Also, Letter not grade is shown on transcript.
Otherwise I am a strong applicant, 2200 SATs, 760, 680, 640 on 3 SAts, ton of extracurrics, decent recs, strong essays.

Am I doomed because I failed math?

I couldn't drop the course.... How much would it help to have a letter of explanation sent from the teacher? I was under an insane amount of work and am putting much more effort into the class. I dont think Cornell or Northwestern will care about me after I messed up that badly.
