The importance of visiting the colleges

Okay I've been accepted into my top 3 schools, and I can't choose which one, but unfortunately I don't have the money resources to go and visit them and get a feel for the campus and atmosphere and such. And I've only got about a month before that May !st deadline...So my questions are...

1) How important is a campus visit? Are they helpful in deciding your process?

2) If I can't make it to campus, any tips on how to choose a college? I'm so torn, and there's pros and cons for all 3 of them!

help me please?! thanks in advance!

I don't think anything is more important than the campus visit, it is often the deal maker or the deal breaker

It depends on how well you visit schools and how well they setup resources for you when you arrive.

I find some universities it's easy to have an extremely meaningful and influential visit, others it takes a lot of preparation and leg work.

Particularly when you're stuck, I think they're extremely helpful.

If you can’t make it to the colleges, find people who go there and talk to them. I think the campus visit is overrated, frankly. If you ask around enough, you’ll get a pretty good impression. Go on flickr, do some searches, see what people are posting. etc. visit some course websites in areas you are interested in. call the department you are interested in and ask to talk to a professor. Ask some hard-nosed questions. You’ll be surprised how honest people can be.
