Why don’t you submit an appeal?
Wait listed at UIUC lmao. Appealing with a major change
@Littlebitanxious UT Dallas?
@animays I too was waitlisted, my major was mechanical engineering.
@tangerinedreams9 UT refers to UT Austin.
I haven’t seen a single person getting rejected at UT Dallas.

Hello everyone,
Update on my admission decisions:
Got accepted to UT Austin, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, University of Maryland College Park (with Honors), University of Florida and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign . My major is Economics.
Okay so I was wondering if anybody else has gotten into the honors program at any of their universities?
I’ve been offered Honors at Rutgers, UMD College Park and maybe UT Austin (decision yet to be released).
This is a great opportunity for me personally and I was wondering how does it weigh in for my final university selection?
For eg, in the above list should I attend UIUC (since its overall a better and higher ranked school) or UMD (since I have been offered Honors there)?
Any help would be appreciated!
@SetuShah10
Honors is no biggie. You just get smaller class sizes and somewhat higher level content in some courses (which means you’ll need to put in extra work). You may not be able to take all courses as Honors.
Before deciding, look up the four main things for each school:
- [] Strength of the program: Some schools are stronger in some areas but pretty weak in others. Overall rankings are secondary. This will have a direct impact on your employability.
[] Location: This will have an impact on your job and internship prospects, as well as overall livability.
[] Cost: It’s not worth selling your kidney to attend an expensive private school.
[] Fit: Find out what kind of students go to that school and whether you’ll fit in.
And of course, more than the school itself, it’s what you do while you’re in there that matters.
Applied to the following for free (just for fun, don’t intend to go here. My main College is Cornell.)
Wentworth institute of technology - Software Engineering w/ 13.5k USD per year Scholarship
Pace university - Computer Science with honors - 27.5K USD per year Scholarship
Florida Tech - Software Engineering - 12.5k USD per year scholarship.

Did you have to apply separately for that?
@Michthebeech Nope.
