The Indian Thread #19

Of course not!
I value intelligence, humor, and and a warmhearted personality in males. And physical attraction should have a slight touch importance.

Just a heads up guys. We established that the Cafe was appropriate for non-college-related conversations. I don’t want this thread to be banned too. :frowning:

Anyway, correct me if I’m wrong. The UCs DON’T want transcripts, letters of recommendations and class ranks, right?

^ Correct…
Just the online app.
BTW, Applying to which campuses itsmylife?

Oh And, who all here on CC are applying to UCs ?

Just Berkeley. And thanks.

I’m applying to Berkeley too.

I’m not applying to the UC’s. Stanford is the only school I’m applying to on the west coast.

No West Coast schools pour moi. Too far.
Kaira what are you targets and safeties?

My dream school is Harvard, though I’d be ecstatic with YPS as well. Don’t really have any safeties, since I’m applying for financial aid and only applying to schools which can’t really be called safeties. If I don’t get into one of them, it’s college in India for me.

What about you?

Ah yea. I have 2 safeties but since I’m applying for FA I might not even get into those 2 (Ithaca College and Northeastern U, btw) and still get into more competitive schools that offer substantial aid.
Canadian Colleges are my backup too. My target schools are Wellesley, Middlebury, Carleton (perhaps) and Colgate, and my extreme extreme reach is Yale. I’ll almost certainly not get in, but I couldn’t live with the thought of ‘What if I’d sent the application…?’
You seem to be a very good applicant from what I remember of your stats, so I’m sure you’ll get into a great school  Where else are you applying apart from HYPS? And for what major?

My safeties/matches are non-American colleges.

Haha, same here unfortunately.

Thanks! I reallyy really hope so. If I get into Yale SCEA my life for the next four months will be 1000000 times better!

I want to double major in Econ and IR/government. I’m also applying to all the Ivies excluding Brown and probably UPenn.outside the Ivies, Georgetown, northwestern, chicago, Williams, Amherst, swarthmore and middlebury.

But these are only if I get Yale rejected/deferred. If I somehow get in, I’ll only apply to HPS

Ooh International Relations. Miranda is the only one that offers IR in India, right? I know someone who did her Undergrad there and did her PG in a great school in Geneva that specializes in IR. She’s considering doing a Doctorate in Princeton.
Basically, it sounds very interesting. I think I might give it a try in freshman year.
I suppose all your other schools are almost Ivies anyway. But I’m absolutely sure you’ll get into at least one. I can bet my hair on it.

Hey PrincetonDreams, I’d actually go through high school once again to study in Eton.Would you mind telling us which country you are a citizen of?

I’m applying to UCB and UCLA.

And yeah, I’m pretty sure that Kaira is getting into more than one of the universities she’s applying to!

Aaaand, Kaira I know this is not your real name but I really like it.

@debarghya9: And I would go through HS again if only I could study at a United World College IB school (which was my original intention).

I am a citizen of the country I was born in and also of the country my parents were born in. :)

Why do you ask though?

TRUE TRUE TRUE!!!

Dude, my parents were ready to send me to UWC provided I get aid since they really couldn’t afford Rs 12 Lakh for two years at the time due to a lotta heavy financial expenses etc
I thought I wouldn’t get any financial aid, so I didn’t apply.

I regret that to this day.

:'(

^Just so that I can classify you. I’m just curious about people with more eventful lives than mine.

Haha, but Eton has the history. You can literally brag about it anywhere. They don’t even spank you bare-bottomed nowadays. I’d get to bask in the aristocracy. Plus it has perhaps the highest Oxbridge acceptance rate after Westminster.

I am going to send my kids to either a school like Stuyvesant or Eton or United World College.

I wanted to go to either [UWC - Li Po Chun UWC](http://www.uwc.org/our_colleges/li_po_chun_uwc_of_hong_kong/default.aspx) or [UWC - UWC Costa Rica | UWC](http://www.uwc.org/our_colleges/uwc_costa_rica/default.aspx)

Debarghya you seem to be very well-informed about high schools abroad!

^ Aniruddh you are looking way far into the future! You’re thinking about your kids already! Oh boy, you’ll be a good dad.
