True… Hahahha

Seriously, people. Google IS the answer to everything.

(Bad) News Flash!

Swarthmore only has ONE student in all four years attending from India atm. Is that discouraging or what?

^Are you ****ing serious!?

Goodbye Swarthmore vigorously scratches it off list

What?! Whyyy? Noooo. :(

Sorry, my bad!

It has NO student currently. Their brochure says so. :(

This is not good.

Well maybe they’ll want some. :)

Hope so! :)

That’s a terrible reason to scratch a college off your list. Come on.

You should still apply! Maybe the want Indians so you guys will have the upper hand in this year’s admissions cycle?

I’m sure Swarthmore has a lot of Indian-Americans though.

LOL, I was just messing around. I didn’t actually cross it off my list. Swat is a dream LAC, and I will still apply (though with a lot of trepidation now) =P

Let’s hope they WANT more Indian undergraduates.

Also, somebody please put up stats for Amherst and Williams. I can’t find them anywhere. Not the specific number of Indians enrolled at least… but I am expecting similar news =P

I don’t want to go to an LAC. I want a school with a bigger social scene.

Anyone applying to Reed?

I have a very close friend who’s currently a sophomore at Swat. He’s indian and lived his entire life here but holds an american passport so he would probably be listed under ‘american’.

^^ccp- Nice to see you posting again on TiT! Welcome back! Where did you finally enroll? Reed? Tippu, another user here is applying to reed.

Anshu- That’s pobably it. The brochure gives details for International and dual citezens.
Anyway, Swat also gives aid to about only 30 internationals in total out of 200 applying for fin. aid. An admissions director was down here in delhi recently, so I was able to pull it out of him after a lot of effort. ;)

^Yes, I am now nearing the end of my first semester here at Reed, and must say that I am enjoying not knowing my grades.
Anyway, which colleges are you planning on applying to?

Although I am African ( a real black one ), my great-great-grand father was from gujarat, so I am naturally interested in india. I just wanted to say hello and wish you all good luck for your applications. I still have to wait until next year as I am a junior.

^^Oh, haha! How are you finding Reed? Major? I am being advised to apply there as well. And where are you from in India?
So are the '14ers going to start posting again now that winter break started? (Yep, I stalked the TiT 18)
I’m applying to the usual, Ivy- LAC mixture with seasoning of some more universities. :)

luceverita- That’s awesome!! I don’t even know where my great great grandfather is from. I only know where my great grandmother is from as she’s still alive! Welcome to TiT! :D

Thank you perfectpixie. Are all the people on this thread residing in India ?
Why are you applying to US schools? I have heard there are incredibly competitive schools in India as well.
