She got a Likely Letter.
SAT - 2360
II’s - 800 and 780
My school already has two Yale’s (one of them also got into Harvard) and one Stanford already.
I hope I get into NYU or UCLA or something. Haha.

@Anjali
Hey.

^That interview was the definition of awkwardness :|

^Exactly why I never even tried studying for the IIT-JEE.

I do believe that IITs are fine institutions for engineering but certainly not the best ones in the world.

And yeah, about the acceptance rate thing. Even I used to think that they have the lowest acceptance rate in the world, if not so, then at least lower than Harvard’s. But, the way acceptance rate of IITs is calculated is misleading! Even you might have noticed this,

Acceptance rate of IIT=(Number of candidates matriculated/Total number of IIT JEE test takers) X 100%

If Harvard was supposed to have a similar calculation then it would be,
Acceptance rate of Harvard=(Number of candidates matriculated/Total number of SAT test takers around the world) X 100%

:D

Wow Chromey what kind of schoool do you go to all 2300’s :P!!

They have likely letters at Stanford? I thought it was an Ivy thing ?
Congrats to your friends

@confidential2015
That’s smart.
I never thought of that.

@Violator
My school has five 2300+'s this year.

@luceverita
Even I thought only the Ivies send them out.
Well then, Stanford’s bigger than half of the Ivies.

It’s not fair actually to compare IITs with Ivy League universities or even tech schools like MIT or Caltech. IITs are severely underfunded public institutions focused on a specific domain. They are what they are, because the cream of India’s academia and students go there.

Guys just go and look at all the nonsense spewed in the IIT vs MIT threads of the past. There was one which said that IIT=Harvard+Yale+Princeton or something along those lines.

@itsmylife: Your sentiments (about gap year) totally mirror mine. There’s so much I want to do in the immediate future and so little time.

What’s you major debarghya?

^My major is most likely Physics. Although I’m interested in a lot more.

Who isn’t?

Can one do more than one Minor?

^^By that I meant that I’m not very sure about my major. There are people whose interests are rather unidimensional.

Me

10 char

Today, I could finally, FINALLY submit my Extended Essay. I swear on my life I am literally high right now. I’m not even kidding. I’ve had the worst 2 weeks of my life, and this one little thing put such a huge smile on my face that I look like a clown.Everyone I meet I’m like HEY HOW ARE YOU ? Haha. I kept trying to submit it, and I had to make so any revisions because of the darned word limit. Now it’s finally covered, signed, and submitted! I’m NEVER touching it ever again!
What did you do yours on Tippu? I did mine in English A1.

I know what you meant, but apart from compscifan and a few others, everyone on CC seem to have diverse “interests” and whatnot. Adcoms must be really bored with their lives.

^ hey rsaxena! what are you doing these days?

BTW, I got more links to share ppl
[India’s best students who became CEOs - Yahoo! India Education](<a href=“Yahoo Search - Web Search”>Yahoo Search - Web Search)

Preparing for my career in auto-driving. :)

Btw, in the above link posted by compscifan, most of “India’s best students” do not seem to have studied much in India.
