The Indian Thread #19

^ They might ban the creation of any thread named TiT in foreseeable future considering that two of the previous threads had been locked. So don’t take for granted that creation of TiT 20 will be allowed.

Don’t worry. If they do so, ani will start THT (The Hindustani Thread)! :)

best of luck to everyone awaiting their MIT decisions here. :)

con2015, wouldn’t THT essentially be the same thing?

what exactly prompted the moderator to take action against this thread?

Yeah, Best of luck to all MIT applicants.
Also Any applicants of UWashington Seattle here ? It’s decisions would also be out soon.

@paki: Several flaming posts, (abuses?) made by some posters caused it. That and the fact that this thread was allowed by the moderators to be created for college discussions only (Read 1st page of the thread) and no trash/random talk. This was the reason TiT # 18 was locked.

^ oh ok, got it.
just looked through the past few pages. seems like the post that inspired the ‘abuses’ is still there lol. moderator FAIL.

any of you apply to WUSTL?

Prolly the ‘useless’ fights and gossips. :stuck_out_tongue:

IMO, nothing was useless. But, there are big brothers tracking the thread!

I was suggesting to create THT if they ban the creation of further TiTs. :D

lol, the Pakistani thread has had its share of “useless fights and gossip” too. interesting how so much controversy only arises in sub-continent threads lol.

compscifan, did you apply to UW Seattle? Interesting …

Anyone get accepted to MIT?

Blank post

No esconie this year people.

Many thanks to people like Aniruddh, PerfectPixie and some others who prefer to remain unnamed, for bothering to post such encouraging comments on my blog.

I’ll admit, if there was an award for Least Active Member of a Nationalized Thread, I’d win it in no time. I’m a bit perplexed as to why you guys would take such a semi-active interest in my application, and hold such high hopes, considering the fact that I’ve discussed very little of my application here. Not that I resent it. Just a little confused, that’s all.

FYI, I got admitted to UCLA, rejected from CalTech and MIT and waitlisted at the Georgia Tech honors program. I got admitted EA, and now they waitlisted me for the program which only admits 110 people an year. Must be something good, right?

And thanks to 3G, and a slicker mobile version of CC from my phone’s native browser, I’ll try to be more active here. It’s fun to be around some like-minded individuals such as yourselves.

:)

I got into Georgia Tech honors, by the way. Its just 4 extra courses or something.

Cc mobile is the only way I go on cc by the way. Heck, I don’t even know what my post count is.

Congrats! But still, I hope better stuff comes your way. ;)

its 1684 Ani
COngrtas on the honors program!!

Hey many of you seem to have a lot of info about past year results. Have any of you seen any one get accepted into one of the ivy league after getting rejected at MIT at Caltech. Please don’t limit your response to HYP. Thank you.

I’m clueless, but I guess the others will have something useful to contribute.

@Violator MIT/Caltech decisions are in no way an indicator of the Ivy league decisions. Unless you got accepted :p

In fact, all the people I know at Ivy league schools got rejected at MIT.

And, Ani, WOW. That’s AWESOME!

@thetechnut, I read your latest blog. It’s cool that you took the rejection so well. Speaks a great deal about you. :)

I dunno if this counts…
I got rejected from Caltech and MIT, but I am a finalist for the University Scholars Program at Duke University this year. I also applied for aid (Duke is need-aware).
