That’s surprising! I always find paper 1 easier than paper 2. Maybe because I’m used to doing Maths without a calculator. Plus, those TI-84s are ancient.

^TI-89’s are the new in thing, yes? :D

any '17er or other taking their SAT tomorrow?
i’m taking my SAT1 (again)!
anyone else has their centre at delhi?

Shrey ,TI-Nspire CX CAS are the new craze. Only $20 more expense than the 84 :)

Good Luck rew.

I am. And yes, my center is in Delhi too. :)

All the best to the people taking the SAT tomorrow…Rock it!! :D

Tizil- i know, pity. i found out about the nspire only after ordering my ti-89. but i dont care much, it seems awesome enough… plus i dont like that the nspire has that bright, Led-type of screen, like a cellphone. i prefer traditional looking calculators :)

To those taking the SAT tomorrow (who are still online)…all the best! just a few things to keep in mind: stay calm, work as fast as you can and keep track of your time…make sure you take a watch with you in case you cant see the clock or there isnt one in your room. answer all the questions you know first and dont waste time on any particular question. if you really dont know the answer to some questions, eliminate a couple of options and take a wise guess. oh and PLEASE make sure you are filling in circles next to the right question number. also, dont spend too much time planning your essay, start writing as the thoughts come to you. umm…yeah thats about it…just dont worry much. if ive learned anything, its that a high score doesnt really guarantee anything.

I love my Ti84. >:( How dare you all.

Hope the SATs went well for all you young’uns! :)

It went well. At least I think so :p

Oh SATs. They make you think they went well and when decision time swings by, the surprise you, horribly. ;)

I hope the best for all of you!

Aah. Wait list decisions are so close.

@idream: Hope you don’t have to give the ACTs, all the best for the results :)

@Tizil: All the best for your Columbia waitlist :)

I took SAT1. Mine went all sucky.
Math sections were a joke, or maybe thats because i didnt study anything but math this time.
English was like -_-
I was all confused with the passage 1 and 2 -co relation wala question ( i hate 'em, those ones make me lose my pppprecioussssss marks EVERY time).
I was missing like 4-5 in every writing question because of paucity of time
and i was like scoring 700+ in my Bluebook tests.damn.
In a nutshell, i am scoring a 700+ in math and 500ish (lol, yes, early 500s) in reading and writing.
@tizil, what you said about what one expects and scores is almost contrary in my situation.
I definitely know what am getting, lol, and its sick ![]()
@idream, what was your centre?

My center was St. Michael’s school. Yours?

Mrinal, I will be taking the ACT regardless, but thanks anyway :)

I didn’t like St. Micheal School, absolutely no leg space…hope to see you there this June ;)

Yeah, the desks were not comfortable at all. My June ACT center is USIEF :

Btw, the people who took AP Chem today, how was it? Mine went well :D

AP Chem? I see some credits coming over my way :3

Woah. St Michaels test center at this side too. I might have seen you, lol. And yes, the seats sucked. Mine toh were non-adjustable even though it had enough leg space; it was so damn unconfortable not being able to shift the desks and sit in the same position for 3 freaking hours >.<.

Sadly i wont be taking the June SAT there, got late to register for subject tests and now they are all filled up.
mumbai and banglore centers left, but they are too(ooo) far off for me -_- i cant believe it- i will be wasting one of my SAT turns.
i’ll be taking 3 subjects in october- damn! I’ll be over-burdened, grr.

Sup up with you guys these days?@mrinal and @idream. Whatcha doing theae days?

any one got the i20 already from the respective colleges? Have you guys started filling the visa application? The sevis fee - does that need to be paid after or before the ds 160 application?

@Abscalc: Cal is reviewing my NIF request and will be mailing the I20 any day now.

Since my dad is handling my visa, I don’t know anything about the procedures :p

Rew, idream and Mrinal, you guys should go to the USIEF center - it’s amazingly comfortable. Though I got an 1840 at my USIEF and 2070 at St. Michaels and finally my current score 8300 kilometers away ;)

Have you guys started working on your essays?

Show initiative in 12th grade. As an example, a friend who’s going to Yale redesigned an invention and touted it as their greatest achievement. Academics and SATs weren’t this person’s USPs. Just show initiative and work on modeling those essays in your voice.
