Admissions is a game. And one that is very easy to beat.

PM me. I charge by the application, i.e. per school. I just have 2 clients right now, and I dedicate as much time and energy to guaranteeing my clients a place in all of their first three choices. I do not take applicants who need aid, however. The aid factor makes it very difficult to predict admissions at any other college besides HYP.

PD you love to wax lyrical about your proficiency in manipulating this game We’d love you to share your expertise, unless of course its a trade secret, in which case, inbox me :P

And why do you have an aversion to LACs? Its not something you cannot know why. Since its your own opinion, you should know how you arrived at it. Dont be afraid to admit maybe its a prestige or name problem ;)

I’m not afraid to admit it! You’re absolutely right! Now see, if my parents are sending me abroad, they’d want their son to study in a reputed school ( you know why )

All that I could tell was general information regarding standing out, and I did a couple days ago. Institution-specific admission information is far too valuable for me to give out. :)

Also, being in a country like India has numerous advantages with regards to the application process. You just need to learn how to use them. ;)

I personally wouldn’t recommend any LACs besides Amherst and Williams. Hardly any international employer cares about the others. And your parents are absolutely right. No point in going unless it’s reputed.

Indeed PD how you torture us with your contentiously phrased comments Maybe think before you unleash a firestorm of curiosity among all the future readers of this page Of course, some might think you’re ■■■■■■■■ but the panache with which you write will engender that modicum of doubt that will forever torment the poor souls of these 2016ers. Of course Im rather staid in comparison. I wouldnt be, a year ago ;)

Well if you’re looking for prestige in society, you might as well forget about Caltech and go for MIT. Most people give me a puzzled, tacitly-berating look for having chosen that over Cambridge. Lucikly, employers think otherwise(hopefully)

And it’s actually pretty simple. Trust me. I don’t think there’s an easier game than admissions. I’m sure these guys will eventually figure it out.

Also, I feel I should reiterate the India comment. Those who use it well end up with pretty miraculous results.

Well hiring reputation may be good, but seriously, other than those actually applying to college, most in the general populace have never heard of it. Not that im complaining or anything, since it keeps away the evil eye ;)

Haha maybe I went a quantum verbose there Idk if my result qualifies as miraculous, but I didnt get the impression that I developed any mastery over this game :S

Well I think you’re talking about the ubiquitous aunties and neighbors for whom engineering is synonymous to IIT and MIT. Otherwise every other person would know about Caltech!

Can you tell me about applying to oxbridge please? im from CBSE :(

It doesn’t. Caltech admissions is a game that few counselors can play. It’s almost purely numbers based, unlike Ivy, Stanford, Duke, MIT, UChicago etc. lol It doesn’t even use AA!

Im sorry, I think it is only of late that Cam allows people from CBSE to apply without A levels. For that you’ll have to check their website. I gave the A levels and so it wasnt a problem for me.

Yeah thanks for reminding me of how ordinary my results are AA is affirmative action I believe? Well yeah Caltech doesnt give out any athletic considerations, nor does it engage in affirmative action for minorities and also no legacy. Which hurts them frankly since they have among the lowest alumni donation rates :S
