^^Oh. That clears some things up. Thanks Yea my common app essay is done, its ~540 words but i will cut it down. And I’m sorta proud of it too
Well even if i don’t get in anywhere, it will have been fun to go through with this xD
I know, it sounds crazy
@D&D- Hah! If you don’t get in with those scores i toh have NO chance. Although my ECs arent bad Do you have a strong everything-else? :)

Full pay chances should help, but I know this person who didn’t ask for FA and applied to the Ivi’s and top Universities but couldn’t make it in despite of a 2100 SAT score. But, got through one Top Uni…
I guess everything depends on the application…

Just my two cents, but if you (addressed to the common man) are a very picky person … Harvard = Ewww for under graduation - only when you don’t factor in it’s prestige :P

I would rather go to MIT than Harvard for under graduation, that is, if I get accepted to any of the two places :D

Okay by the time i reply, there are 10 posts and my ‘carrots’ are on the wrong person :/

hahahah karan you manage to make me smile. not to be creepy or anything. I KNOW WHATCHA MEAN. american grammar is absolute bs. some fool sat down and came up with the most obsolete and insane rules in existence and decided to make em the basis of the american language. being trilingual, i dont have a problem with the american language. i mean, i was raised with it… so it comes naturally. but that doesnt help sometimes. with things like the vocab, its just practice. which i need. desperately.

ugh im screwed for life. join the club, anyone?

Woah. So much new information with every post I … erm … post. Hahaha. And Cobalt, I completely understand what you mean by “it’s fun”. It is fun! It is exhilarating!

Well veethiv, we all know that if we were applying to the UK with full pay status, 8/10 univs would send us acceptances :D

I kind of like American Grammar
But Hi5 for being trilingual!

i gave up on carrots. this thread is on steroids.

harvard and mit are both lovely colleges. i visited practically all the good colleges around here last summer, and i’ve gotta admit, MIT’s campus is BEAUTIFUL! harvard and princeton are too, of course. they’re massive. im probably gonna get beat up in one of the streets and it’s so big that it’ll take the police 10 years to find me. lovely.

haha thanks tilzil7 well i speak english and kannada. and then we learn spanish in school. so… idk. all indian kids in america are trilingual.

Your sense of humor cracks me up :D

Even though I know your statement was I hyperbole, I would like to attend a school that finds my body the next day D:

Penta! Woah.
You sir, just gained some respect.
Unless you are passing different forms of vernacular as language. Which I am sure you are not :)

Tilzil7: thanks my sense of humor’s pathetic. i try and try and fail every time.

darkanddown: uhm no thanks. the real meaning of steroids? they’re accessible at my school. some druggie probs sells em for five bucks each. yum.

I found Yale campus to be the best. MIT is right in the middle of the city, we didn’t realize it was MIT until we saw the the main building. Too much city buzz around MIT but a campus with a lot of people around is amazing in its own way!

haha I need steroids, I feel sleepy every time I begin with the CR section. Can you ask those dealers to get me some? lol (lame)

The SAT requires such amazing long-term concentration. Just a random thought.

CC would probably kick us out if we discuss drugs here.
But ultimate drug would be speed ball: mixture of everything. Haha leads to death. yay no SAT.

FYI darkanddown, everyone around here uses a ton of emoticons. if you have a problem with my cheerful mood, i suggest you deal with it, cause I’m not changing for ya. it’s funny cause in that statement that you quoted, i used ONE emoticon. good goin, chico. and its *too many emoticons

veethiv: but boston is such a beautiful city! my dad works there (SO FAR AWAY!!) and m sooo freaking jealous and im sorry, i dont think i can ship drugs overseas :P

tilzil7: yes it does! that’s what practice is for! you condition your brain to sit and concentrate to the 3-4 hours that you’re there (:

oh btw, LSD also kills you. pretty useful in that matter as well (: woot woot.

@darkanddown: SERIOUSLY? hahaha That’s funny. Can I ask why?
@tennichacaxzo: True! Boston is amazing! You’re lucky, you must be getting to go there quite often right?

Everyone. I need your honest opinion. Consider the following situation:

Pick one thing you like doing the most.

Imagine writing a kick-ass Common App Long essay on it.

Three of your extracurricular activities in the common app are related to it.

Do you still go ahead and write the Common App Short Essay on that topic?

IMO, it shows passion for the said thing but does it do so at the danger of sounding one-dimensional and repetitive.

PS. Tennis, I believe D&D wasn’t trying to come across as harsh as you might think. The Internet has a strange tendency to omit the tone of certain texts :)
