Can someone plz answer? Who all do we include in the class size? Number of students in our class or the number of students in a grade overall?

In the grade overall, from what i’ve read everywhere.
Why? What was ur SAT 1 score?

Any advice on physics? Anyone?
How hard is the curve?

It’s the CollegeBoard’s Official SAT Prep Book: [url=http://www.amazon.com/Official-Turtleback-School-Library-Binding/dp/1417666625/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1320221785&sr=8-3]Amazon.com: The Official SAT Study Guide (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (9781417666621): College Board: Books/url

2% more than mine, CGPA?, 1% more than mine, I don’t know.

Surprising how I am in the same situation, just a few timezones behind you all.

To be specific, did anyone apply HYP?
I am applying to P, but RD. Other than that, lesser mortals like me just apply to Cornell, Brown and Columbia in Ivy terms :P

Has anyone of you tried the “Gruber’s guide to SAT” or “Dr Chung SAT math”?
Reviews much?
The people over at the SAT forum say it’s good. Personally, I have no experience with them.

And again, whats the blue book??
Look up :)

I am sorry, I thought I had answered your question, but that’s probably just in my head. Earlier, I took class size as “everyone in 12th” but now, your definition makes more sense that class size = “science/commerce/humanities”.

Good Morning Everyone!

Are you referring to the infamous Joe Bloggs? ^_^

What kind of graphing calculator is everyone using for the math 2c?

My D used TI-86 in school and so for SAT-Math II C too and continues to use it in College too.

I used a TI-89 Titanium.
Still use it.
My sister uses a TI-84 Silver.
We both like mine better :p

i don’t have a TI retailer in my city so I got a casio fx-9860g. Its pretty good. Is there any advantage of the TI ones?

Only perhaps it’s more well known.
“The tool doesn’t make the man. The man makes the tool. Or something”

We ordered ours through amazon with free shipping which is a great way because of low cost. Albeit it takes more time (~20 days). You can also get it in two days by paying extra 2305 rupees.

Apart from that, you can look back somewhere in this thread, I posted some calculator advice not too long ago.

Hi everyone,

it is hard to follow you guys because we are a few hours apart.

To be specific, did anyone apply HYP?
I applied SCEA to harvard

As far as calculator is concerned I used the TI84 (and got a good grade on math2). I do not think it is that important which calc you use. The most important is that you have to know your calc well so that you do not waste time trying to figure out how to plot a curve or solve an equation

thanks tizil and aleajactaest. I know my calc. well enough and its been useful in the practice tests. So i’ll stick with it.
also good luck aleajactaest, hope harvard likes you.

I applied SCEA to harvard
That’s great! Best of luck to you!
I am not as ambitious as that, though I’ve always wanted to apply to Harvard for it’s amazing grad schools :D

Mmmm i’m using a simple scientific calculator.

You guys done with your essays?

Thanks Karan and Tizil.
Dreamlord, you should be fine with your scientific calc. After so many practice tests before I took the real one, I actually came to the conclusion that the less you use your calc the better it is, as most of the questions can be answered without a calc just using your brain. The fact of having a calc induces us to use it without even having thought of alternative and often smarter and quicker way to solve the problem.

^ Exactly. Even in Barrons, painfully easy questions have proposed solutions with the help of a calculator. It completely baffles me.

Also dreamlord, I am just done with my common app essay, nothing else.
But I am sure that I will never ever alter my CA essay again unless something insanely interesting comes to my mind. The sad part, though, is that my CA essay is so unusual that I cannot re-use it for any other application question.

I’m really late in responding (haha), but I use a TI-Nspire (: The graphing calculators are the best. They make things faster and easier.

As for being addicted, count me in. I woke up ten minutes ago, brushed my teeth, and logged in on my iTouch. I’m probably gonna have to skip breakfast, unless I want to miss my bus. Oh well. You guys have got to be the coolest CC’ers ever.

Agreed @ Alea. I’m having no problems with my sci calc - all my mistakes are more logical than calculative.

@Tizil, your essay sounds interesting !
