OH. thanks :)

For those who took the SAT 1, CollegeBoard reused the October 2010 test today :D

So to check your answers: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1011254-october-2010-international-sat-4.html

Thank me later 8|

heyyy (: it sounds like y’all did great! im proud of you! when do you guys get your results back?

Most probably November 20-25 but we will know for sure tomorrow. I guess you can attribute the low activity on the thread today to the test today and no one wanting to do anything related to colleges :p

Physics was argh. Can’t believe it went this bad. Was getting great marks in my practice tests, but got raped in the actual.

haha (: makes sense. i was starting to wonder if we had FINALLY died down a bit. there were responses left and right last saturday :P

@Tizil : Nope, one 800. Can’t predict physics or lit. And how was your SAT? Does it get easier on the 1st retake, because i will be retaking it in december. Best of luck for the scores
@Cobalt : How was your chem? Good luck for the scores and essays. They seem to be the only thing left
@Shreya : if the other 45 are correct, you can still get 800 so good luck

Thanks Karan! Best of luck to you for your scores as well!
Ah. Finally. After so many days I got my mid day nap today :D

Is anyone applying to Georgia Tech? Apparently, they don’t recognize CBSE grades and want them converted to GPA by a third party service

Thanks Tizil.

I am not applying, but they really do that? GPA of many Indian students would suck though. 80-90% probably isn’t too good on the GPA scale.

GTech isn’t too difficult to get into! My dad goes there, and a huge percentage of the Georgian population makes it in with little to no difficulty. You guys should go for it! I’ve heard that it’s a great place The campus is awesome too. OH and you can visit me if you come down here haha

@tennischicaxo: I can’t no fin. aid
the only places that offer decent aid are super tough to get into,so lets see what happens.

Karan: are you sure? GTech’s supposed to be really lenient on that kind of stuff then again, Georgians have access to the HOPE Scholarship… what schools DO have good financial aid, then? cause if you go about it that way, all american school are expensive… really expensive.

Those who offer need blind admissions. I think Ivy League,MIT,Stanford(although it isn’t need blind,it offers generous aid) and Amherst. Limited Aid for internationals : JHU,Caltech,UChicago and others but their being need aware greatly reduces chances.
Most state schools don’t offer aid or scholarships to international students.
So I hope I get into any one of these. :D

Tennis, I don’t think that Georgia is lenient with aid for internationals. Being a state school, I highly doubt it has any aid for internationals.

So let’s see how this goes

@tizil : it really doesn’t have any aid for internationals, says that on their website.

Also who else is partying tonight? Tizil??After all we got rid of the subject tests. I am going out to get moderately drunk. Talk to you all later.

I think I messed up my Maths and Physics :(

Left 2 in Maths and probably 2 or 3 wrong
Left 2 in Physics and probably 2 or 3 wrong too!
No idea about chemistry :P

Math: Still an 800.
Physics: Still an 800. (maybe)
Chemistry: No idea :p

Don’t worry bist :)

well 2 omits and 3 wrongs make an 800? are you sure Tizil?

EDIT TO ADD : how was your test by the way???

Bist, oops sorry I did not account for negative marking. So 2 omits and -3 translates into a reduction of -3 so that’s still good considering that Math’s curve is -6 for an 800, you are still good.
