Anybody tried USIEF for a counselor? I’m thinking of going there tomorrow as my school doesn’t have a specialized counselor.

@darklord: After you go, would you please PM me the details of what happened? I also want to go to them but I don’t have a centre in my city. So I’ll go to Delhi later. Any details will be helpful. Thanks

dreamlord*

Will let you know if I go tomorrow. If anyone’s been there already, please post.

Oops dreamlord. And thanks.
BTW how was your SAT?

Why is the SAT result being released so early this time?

Last time it was 20 days, this time its 17. Not much of a difference.

@Karan ; Physics was godawful. NOTHING like my expectations based on the practice tests. Would be grateful if I managed a 750, it was that bad. Math 2 was decent.

I’m definitely going today to USIEF. They said they have a counselor. Will update you once i’m done.

dreamlord, if the curve is generous, you could easily get more. My physics was ok,not too good, not too bad. Math was great. And share what you find out from the counsellor. thanks

KLPD. It was closed today for Guru Nanak Jayanti. I called them in the morning to ask them their timings, and they never mentioned that they were off today >.<

I am curious about the level of questions asked on Physics SAT. Just a general idea, because the sample questions on College Board’s official site are way too easy. And I have seen practice tests from several books and each has a different idea of what type of questions show up. Can any one of you who has given a Physics SAT recently give me a general idea of the level of questions? Maybe even point me to some sample paper which closely resembles the level of an actual SAT exam?

Thanks!

Oh so i left that
Thank you anyway Tizil and Anialways ![]()
My nets been down for days, it feels great to read this thread now ![]()
@Karan and Dreamlord- whats that about?

So, whats the app essay status people? Started yet? ![]()
Im filling out the common app now (finally!), started the common app essay.

All the best for the essays guys!
:)

@Cobalt: I have finalized an essay, but it still needs some work. The extraordinary number of essays we need to fill out is overwhelming. I don’t know how I am going to complete them all in time. And many supplements have super silly questions.
BTW my ‘Inheritance’ has arrived.

Me too!
Well, each coll that im applying to requires just one suppl essay. So thats 9 essays total.
Not too bad! Wbt u? How many do you need to write?
What i find annoying is that 3/8 are just ‘explain why you think our coll suitable’. Sheesh, right? ![]()
Lol what kinda ‘silly qs’? Mine were mostly nice ![]()
Mine too! Infact, ive finished reading it and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, if a bit annoying.
Im not a spoiler-fan, but i gotta say this- Murtagh is as hot as i thought he was. Paolini mirrored what i wanted him to be! YAYYYY <3 I love that guy
:D

Llet me know once you guys are done, i’ll probably finish my CA one by tomorrow, so we can exchange essays and advise each other.

@Karan ; i don’t think i’ll spend any money on Inheritance considering how goddamn boring Brisingr was. Will probably borrow it from someone.

@dreamlord- sure ![]()
AAH! It was so not boring, dude
i dont mean any offence ![]()
I loved it! Except for the murtagh=a bad guy who needs to be killed part ![]()
Who is your fav. character btw? :D

Never really got into the series to have a favorite character as such, but I think I liked Arya the most.

Thought Eragon was decent while the other 2 were mediocre
no offense to the fans~

Cobalt, here are some
- What matters to you, and why? (A lot of things, you idiots, can’t say it all)
- We all exist within communities or groups of various sizes, origins, and purposes; pick one and tell us why it is important to you, and how it has shaped you.

And I absolutely hated Arya, too boring. Eragon is great and Murtagh so-so. But I haven’t read Inheritance yet. My brother won’t leave it until he finishes. And Brisingr was awesome.

Hey cobalt,
Do you have a USIEF center in your city?
I’m forgetting the exact details which is why I suggest you consult a usief center (if u don’t have one, you could just call up the delhi one and ask), but I think you can register “late” by taking a paper form from any of the SAT centers in ur city (they might have run out of them at one, but you could find it at another center, and since the form is common for all, use it for any center you like) and just submit the fees and form AT the day of exam. when you show up, there is the possibility that they have space to accommodate another student ; I faintly recall some applications being accepted at the day of the test when I took it way back.
Hope this helps!

OT: I still haven’t read the last part of Inheritance yet! Might get the ebook since I just got done with mid terms… :D

I just finished Inheritance. 880 pages of pure awesomeness, dread, fear, excitement, trepidation, obviousness and so much more. My only qualm is that out of excitement, I finished the whole book in just two days. To other fans out there, take your time with it; enjoy it. In all fairness, I would rate it above the Harry Potter series, but that’s just my opinion.

I have to admit, my writing style is heavily influenced by Christopher Paolini’s and that has shown through my essays.
