i don't think you can report someone but I think its best just to ignore him.

Hi!
Lakshya M:Hey,you have a good record of EC's...very nice..

I would argue against that, I had 71% in 11th, and 82% in 12th (but again, my 12th marks came out after i had already got in, so they really didn't matter). As watercannon said, its the total package that matters

Hi!
which colleges in the us do give good financial aid as well as scholarships to intl students.
I'm a student from india, 90+, 2200 SATs, good ECs & leaderships, lots of intl experience, marvellous recs, and a good essay though i havent written it yet.

harrygoldstien: There're trillion threads about this topic; use the search feature. Almost all top 20 award financial aid to int'l(most aren't need blind though).

71% in 11th is great, everyone knows how Indian teachers grade 9 & 11. If i am right your class rank was 2/400? You EC's and SAT's were your hook(IMHO).

I want to apply to a tech college for engineering, and i can't afford a total of above 20,000 per year.
With the record i mentioned in the previous post, which colleges(i want names plz..!), not necessarily in the top 20, do i stand a good chance of admission as well as financial aid/scholarships?
Also, which colleges can give me a full tuition, if possible??

I know there are other threads too, but this one can give me better information, being Indian centered.

thanks!

This is what I think:
ICSE/CBSE are similar to GCSE O Levels; the results are determined not by internal accessment but by Examinations at the end of two So we don't have tyears i.e. the board Exams. o submit 9th and 11th marks. Coz they don't determine our final score. According to what I have learnt from various college reps, we can submit predicted grades (HSC) given by our college counscellor. Ofcourse if you go to a school which is following the US pattern then you will have to submit your transcript.

I have some questions, hope someone can help me out.
is there anyone whose parents don't fill tax returns? so what does one do then... I was wondering if one can ask the family bank manager to verify savings and investments... would there be a problem then when filling for a visa?

Well, at least what I'm doing, and what I'd recommend others do is to send both your transcript with full grades from 9-12 and, if the college requires it, your predicted marks.

On other matters, both my brother and I are finally finished with collegeboard!!

Scores are:

SAT 2330, SAT Math 2 & Chem = 800, Bio E = 780, Literature & Physics = 770

For my brother: SAT 2360, Math 2 & Chem & Bio E & Literature & Physics = 800

How'd everyone else do?

Hey,thats pretty cool marks!

adides.. it would be helpful to us newbies if you elaborate on what schools you have applied, and what you have gotten into... what do you think was your hook?

harrygoldstien: Admission in American univ are on Subjective criterion, it's not possible to judge your chances from looking at your stats. Apply to as many colleges as you can, almost every top 20 college awards financial aid to int'l.

K_twin: I am confused, are you Shri or Kaushik?

Um... neither :)

I'm Kaushik, Shri's my twin (I make posts on his behalf every so often)

lol..
So in which one are you(both) applying- Huntsman or Jerome?

Still haven't decided. Shri's probably going to apply to Jerome, for me, it's still an even split.
We've concentrating on EA applications, + our second term exams start soon, so we'll only really be able to get to work on our RD applications in late November. Are you applying to either?

I'm applying to Jerome too.. How competitive is Jerome?

Shall we say, very! I think it accepts 40-50 students a year; first of course we have to be accepted! :)

Huntsman is more competitive to get in(most competitive in the world) but once you are in, Jerome is more Rigorous...
I would probably be applying to Huntsman but i believe my M&T essay is more beautiful:)

Btw anyone with a desitorrents invite?
I am dying for it!....

How many people apply to the Jerome program though? 1000-2000?
