ya, it should help you either way, nice!

Hi!
ya,the ACT much-much better than SAT..in easier too....just need to keep track of time which is very short!!......

So did anyone get into Stanford early this year?

And I know I haven't been around here for long time and most of you probably don't even know me, but now that finals are over, feel free to PM me with any help on your applications/essays.

asaatvik:Hi!Well, you are just a day late for helping us in Stanford apps....
but,u can or rather must help us in other RDs.....

hey, is anyone applying to Middlebury from here?? im the only person i know who is, and i have serious doubts on what kind of topic their supplemental essay should be on. d CBSE has no room fr essays on chaucer or romanticism or nethin else.. ...and noone i ask seems to have a clue coz theyve never heard of middlebury..!!

hey, is anyone applying to middlebury from here?? coz im d only person i know who is, and i have serious doubts on what kind of topic to do their supplemental essay on. most ppl who apply frm the US or newhere else do it on topics like chaucer and shakespeare n stuff, but d c.b.s.e has no scope fr that!! n noone i ask seems to kno... coz theyve never heard of middlebury!!

I simply wrote an essay on 'The word Secular and it's meaning in Different Cultures' and got it Checked by History teacher. Write on any topic you wish and get it checked by your teachers.
I would never send the essays i wrote for CBSE, they are too stupid(and boring) to be sent...

Well,I am thinkin of applyin to middlebury..(still THINKING...not conform...will decide in a day or 2..)..ya...the essay is a problem thing..as for topic.....choose the topic which best describes 'you' not just anything....dont give the college even a word to think that you will do this and that for the 'college',instead of that, tell them about what you can do for yourself and the environment around you which is more important than telling college about what you will do for them..just BE-YOUSELF in the whole app and I m sure u will b in!!..

hey, that really helped a lot, thanks so much..now it seems less intimidating! yeah i already asked my eng teacher to assign a topic, which shes checked and commented on so hopefully itll b ok..yay i kno people applyin(or thinin of!) to midd now!! fr isaacnewton- i think u shud maybe call them n make sure u can still apply coz the pre app deadline was yestrday

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that many of the EA and ED decisions have no pattern at all? I have been going through the boards trying to search for a single thing, but I have found none.

I can't seem to post. :(

Ok, now I can. :)

That's a good thing IMO, or maybe there was a pattern(essays, recos..). We can only guess. The random nature of decisions indicate what we already know- Essays can made or break the Deal.

In the words of Homer Simpson : D'oh!!

I felt I bombed my essays. Damn!

Yesterday I junked my only essay written so far, i would be starting on my essay writing from tomorrow - gotta write 11 essays in 10 days!

Well,as far as I have knowledge....Essays hold equal impotance as the SAT,ECs and of-course stats...cant say about the preference order.....I have registered to Middlebury just 3 hrs ago.....lets see if its OK...coz they didnt said that 'ur out of deadline'....(hope not!!)...I will submit that pre-app essay with commonapp....hope u all r also submiting with that...
I have to write 3 or at most 4 essays coz all are almost similar, simply modify each one according to the college's topic....

What's the Middlebury topic? Seems interesting from what I see above.

First-one is the usual Common app essay
Second is similar to MIT Essay option B
Third is a essay of you choice written during high school with teacher comments

the ED/EA decisions so far have gone very unpredictible. god knows what is happening. i sincerely hope that this year the rush this year is not going to be as mad as that of class of '10. here are some stats regarding this years early applications :

P.S. : its me slimshady; unable to access my id since the server shift. anyone suffering the same prob?

You got your scores!!
It's almost two months and i am still without scores.
Our own CBSE conducts exams much more efficiently than that American ACT and CB.
Btw what's the break up? How are the science and English curves?
