The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

I couldn't post. Sent a message to Roger and now I can.

yupp! CBSE is much better
i got deffered from jhu :( and i think these ****ing assoles sitting at the ACT screwed my app.
combined : 30; math:35, sci:32; eng & reading were so-so.
my friend took the april ACT, scored 32 and got 86 percentile and i get 97 percentile with just a 30 ! the oct test was damn tough but who cares? the univs will see the scores on a whole lot.

money-sucker collegeboard is much better

I don't know a lot about ACT, how do you comapre ACT with the SAT?

how many you missed on Maths and Science?

Did you get your ACT scores, abhi?

Not yet, when i called them the person on phone said that my scores would be mailed on Saturday; so i'll probably get them in the next week..

Well,I would prefer ACT ....coz we dont have to mug up all those words...and ACT has science too!!......the only thing is that ACT is a bad time trap!..

lol.

You only have to mug up words for the vocab section of CR. Its not like your whole SAT score is based on mugging words.

PS: I didn't mug words, I think I did ok.

I was placed 14th out of 41 teams from all over the world in the World Robot Olympiad. Do you guys think its worth it to put it on the apps?

Hehe.........when ur given only 10 days to prepare......then it is nothing more than muggin up....lol....

^...obiviously it is worth...(only if u think that it is a good thing for U!! dont go for what the others have to say...I mean...we can only LEARN from others.....and not make ourselves like them....then only we can STAND OUT!!)....hehe (just a little boring lecture....dont bother...;)..)..

abhishiv, math and science went pretty well. i thought ill get a 36 in science lol. i didnt miss any on math and science. may be i got the i^4+i^8..... question wrong. anyways, how is life going with 11 essays?

well lakshya, top 15 in the world robot olympiad is NOT a matter of joke ! if you think its worth, go and put it !

for ACT-SAT comparison visit : http://www.princetonreview.com/college/testprep/testprep.asp?TPRPAGE=141
may be the ACT is easier, but let me tell u issac, the time limit will virtually kill you. on the other hand, if you be aggressive and give the SAT with a little more preparation, you'll surely do good !

i^2

^....lol.......ya...ACT is definitely a time killer.....but the good thing is that it also has science.....

if you want science, go for SAT IIs which has a much higher impact factor

hehe.....ya..I will take that.....hey,one thing is for sure....no matter how much I curse this gap yr...but I hav learnt many things(cant help thinking that)....

SlimshadyInside: What's the postmark date on your score report? How many days it took to reach to you?

the half-worn stamp on the envelope shows that they posted my scores on dec 4th which finally reached me on 14th. most probably you'll be getting the scores by next week.

P.S. how are ur 11 essays going ? 9 days left ; )

i^2/intelinside

I am the first one (p'thon one)..
10 more days!!!
