^...yeah, after that Harvard interview, one would say that..:p..

What's up with the Harvard interview?

isaac, you are so evil! :p

my harvard interview went really well, he was a lawyer so... and he said, "I really think you are going to get into Harvard..." but I bet he says to EVERYONE he interviews, so I am not going to take him seriously....;):)

Hmm, I sense a whole lot of modesty in that post...;)

^....And people call ME evil..:p..

no really I BET he says it to everyone!

I am the last person to be modest :D

Hmmm... Seems this latest version of TiT has been sluggish at best. Well, I guess all things have to end at some point. Anyway, to all the people still posting on this thread: Good Luck with your applications.

and noone's posted so...........

how have you guys posted your supplementary application materials?
A friend of mine couriered every application at the cost of rs 1000 per package (she's applying to 6) - she can check online when the packages reach the college etc etc.-Thats good But i think thats really very expensive.
So how did you guys mail your packages? Also how many days does it take to reach the college and if i send mine on 12th december is it fine?

I did it a lONG time ago... all my colleges have already received it... it takes about 2 weeks for them to register it on the website...

Wish I'd found this place a little earlier........

I have a question about the importance of the SAT I and SAT II exams; which ones are relatively more important to the college admissions officers? I have done the SAT I and 3 SAT II's and did reasonably well in them. 2250 in my SAT I and 800 in Math IIC, 770 in Phyics and expecting at least a 790 in the Chem SAT I just did on the 3rd.

However I know I can do better in them if I did any of them again (I've taken each exam only once so far). But Jan is the last test date so I have to choose between doing the SAT I again (I think I should be able to break 2300 if I do it again) and doing upto 3 SAT IIs (I should be able to get 800 in physics the next time around and maybe a 780-800 on the Bio SAT II).

So 2250 SAT I and Physics 800 (probably), Math IIC (800), Chemistry (790-800) and Biology (780-800)
or
~2300 SAT I (hopefully) and Physics (770), Math IIC (800) and Chemistry (790-800)

Thanks in advance, guys

ONLY retake your SAT's if you want..

^ only you would say that :)

Yeah, only she would say that..:p..
In serious terms, you don't need to retake anything unless you want to waste your money and time...you have competitive scores..

can someone please answer my post above about sending supplementary application stuff? please.....................:P

Yeah you have to do that by mail separately... it sucks really!!!

Isaac and shreya, you guys are weird..:p

cool my first replies.........
Thanks for anwering guys.....I know I have competitive scores but, for the unis that I am applying to, these scores are probably just average.
Does anyone know which scores have a greater impact on the college admissions officers? SAT I scores or SAT II scores?

@shreya - I applied to Cornell ED and I couriered my supplementary materials to them and according to the online tracking service the uni received them in 2 days (I live in the UAE) but it took them 3 and a half weeks to process and register them on the website.

Ask the post office how long it typically takes to mail packages to America; I think it takes about 2 weeks by normal post so mailing by the 12th should be fine but you should check. Also check on the uni websites whether they want the supp materials to be postmarked by Jan 1st or received by Jan 1st. If they say they want them postmarked by Jan 1st it means you should have sent them by or before Jan 1st and its okay if they receive the documents after the 1st.

There is no categorical answer to your query. Some universities may give more importance to SAT I whereas others (Only some of top universities) give more importance to SAT II. In any case I think you do not need to repeat either of them as your score are competitive at any university and in addition an improvement of 40-50 /2400 is almost negligible.

Wow, you guys really don't know how to carry on a legacy, do you? (I mean this in good humour!) We left a 10,000 post thread, if I remember correctly and this is post #379?

Well, good luck with your applications! I can't believe I'm stressing out over finals already, it was such a short time ago that I was freaking out over applications myself.

^ haha look at the Class of 2012 thread girl!
