Sure. What's up?

ajay, you can just ignore this post or something... um, look at butterflies for a while

I'm considering taking the Chem AP ... it appears easy, but I'm paranoid about everything so.. How does the AP compare with the CBSE boards? Sample paper - http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/ap/students/chemistry/ap-chem-0607.pdf.

@Narsil : I'm writing AP Chem, too. I think its the same level as CBSE, so it shouldn't be too tough. Besides, a lot of the portion is from last year, isn't it? (Thermodynamics, Atomic Structure, VSEPR)

Most of it. I agree. But I am guessing the CBSE Textbook serves the purpose decently. Periodic table, equilibrium etc, are somethings that we can manage!

k, I'll take that too then... can't hurt to try...

Yep. Exactly. You have to email them by March 15th right?

I read the Kaplan AP Chem book and it reads like a joke. Take for example the Bohr model:

E = -13.6 (Z/n)^2

and there you are, that's all there is to the Bohr model as far as they're concerned!

@Abhinav, LOL!

@shruthi, Yeah, but my dad was heading that way today anyway, so I gave him the mail and he said he'd drop it off at the School. Also, you can never trust the post. I know that even couriered mails sometimes take more than 1-2 days to reach. And its already Thursday, so it might be a safer bet to just drive by and give it to them. Besides, you live quite close don't you?

Edit: Um, shruthi, you have to send them a mail by 15th. An email to Meyers will tell you what to send in the mail: photo ID copy, a letter with the details and a demand draft for the money (in rupees) or a dollar check. If you haven't sent an email yet, panic and send it to him now; you'll get a reply by today afternoon. Your safest bet would be to hand-deliver the mail. It has to reach him by 15th. :S

Hey, can anyone give at least a clue about things to be done for taking AP in Delhi or is the time up?

@Narsil: Which school are you in?

I tried the American Embassy School in Delhi but they said they only take AES students, so I'm taking it in Chennai. I couldn't find another school in Delhi, there might be some though, so good luck finding them.

Again. WHY DOES EVERYONE SAY THAT THEY'RE 'GIVING' A TEST!?!?

^ stop ranting will ya :p

Most of us are physicists, chemists or biologists and NOT english fanatics :p

tetris - You have company here, I'm an English fanatic! :D

I am a hard core english fanatic too :D I hate it when people say 'anyways' instead of anyway...

Yes, I hate that too.

Hey, is there anything wrong in being a biologist as well as an English fanatic? :D

i said taking..not giving.lol. Alright anyone who is writing AP exams in Delhi?

Yes, I hate it as well! I've banned my friends from saying 'anyways'!

corrected, check above.
