Hi :), I'm not an international applicant (from the US), but just wanted to say hi :)

Hi!>...:)..

Hey..

So I'd found this thread a long while ago but then I forgot about it, but here I am, once again :D

I've applied to:

UIUC
purdue
berkeley
umich
penn
cornell
dartmouth
UCSD
bucknell
Harvey Mudd
...umm that's about it, not that many :P

Yeah so as might be evident, I was quite paranoid about getting in some place.

I've so far got UIUC and Purdue admits under my belt..engineering: not such a major deal but safeties definitely make me feel safe.

where are you folks going?! and doing? I mean..which majors :P

See ya around!
P.S. Tetrisfan, the new house episode is out, just in case you blinked during the occurence of that supernova :P

Congrats!...

hi
i am in California so i have dual citizenship in India and America and was thinking about going back to India for undergrad and getting bachelors and masters

how do you think it will work out if i was to go into medicine?

It will work out well if you ready to give 3 trillion entrance examinations asking foolish questions and making you feel like a moron. Apart from that, it's cake. There are loads of exams, and the preparation needed for them is a bit different from what's taught in US schools ... it's a lot more theory based! Find spideyunlimited here on CC ... he knows a lot about Indian entrance exams.

wat a shame!! I have only one post to my credit in the Last tit thread!!
!!!! (i love exclamation points too !!)

so wat's the king/queen thing? more posts=winner?

well does anyone think its a wise decision or a bad decision knowing most people come from different countries to study here
also anyone know anything about doing residency here after doing undergrad in india?

i just hope i dont screw up my career by studying in india then wanting to come back here and being unable to do a good residency and become cardiologist (long term goal)

hello everyone :)

im a '13 er :D

funny i only came across this thread when i didnt have a cc account and after i made one i forgot bout it :P

So, where all did you apply?

loads...like 15....

most of the ivy's....
UIUC
purdue
berkeley
umich
Northw
Harvey Mudd
Caltech
MIT
stanford EA....reject :(

yes im aiming high...and i have serious doubts bout my chances with a 2070....measly by cc standards :P

lol prateek92...2020 here, so, cheer up!
we are gonners!

yeahhy....someone in the same boat from the same country with a seat next to me :P
:D

First of all, Entrance Exams are not a cake. They can't be eaten and digested..:p..
The competition is HUGE, and I mean it.
You may do UG here. But it would be advisable to do your Masters in US.

bump.........
(Just increasing my post count):p

I am new to this forum (just registered today) and so i want to say Hi to all you guys out here.

I am currently doing schooling in the UAE and hope to go the univ for chemical engg either in the US or UK .

I have the following offers

-Purdue
-IIT (Illinoise not the famed Indian one)
- SUNY-Buffalo
- Florida Institute of technoloy
- University of Manchester (UK)
- University of Birmingham (UK)
-University of Loughborough (UK)
I am waiting to hear from a couple of others like UOM _Annarbor ; USC; Texas A&M ' Imperial College (LOndon UK)

Request your views on which of the one's above I should finally select.
A bit confused right now

It really depends on you.
Do some more research work on your selected college and go for the one which you feel comfortable with (To obvious for a reply..:p)
Also, go for telephonic inquiries.

chem engineering....ummm....i have no idea
however i would say if u get into ann arbor....go for it....it shud be ur first choice
as compared to other univs on ur list.....its a million times better ;)

imperial college

University of Manchester. You'll get a top 3 research institute (RAE 2008), a teaser of a scholarship and great graduate prospects.
