The Indian Thread (TiT) # 17

Still says Kolkata there. God knows what tetris and tomjones are conspiring on about.

:p

And FYI, Tom Jones is the worst book I’ve ever read.

Tom Jones is the worst book i have ever failed to read!

Don’t ever succeed.

I was able to solve many of the questions from today’s JEE paper:)…(I got the papers,I’m writing it in 2010)
It was easier than previous years

Earlier your location said “in tomjonesistheman’s pants”…what was that all about?

I noticed that last night
hahaha

Thank you for the good lucks…except for the maths 2nd paper…all was better than expected
except that
i forgot some physics formulas…expected since i never touched the 11th course after my boards

Nice post on the JEE,tetris…

but,lets not take anything away from those who make it…I still think its one hell of an exam to crack

I OBJECT smartchap.
You posted nearly the same thing on the IIT thread.

:p

People are hallucinating.

@prateek92

lol…i know…i posted the same thing there:)

Its just that I feel ‘saying’ the JEE is a bad test is very easy…

Nobody said it’s a bad test baba, we’re just saying that basing everything on one test is iffy because what if you’re having a bad day that day and you can’t perform up to your potential? No doubt those who ace that test are extremely smart and hardworking.

People are hallucinating.
For ex. QuasiProfound :P

Its just that I feel ‘saying’ the JEE is a bad test is very easy…

Once upon a time used to say that too O.o

And just because only 1.5% of the candidates get chosen,we’re ready to label it a bad test.I think we should admit we’re scared to face the competition.The personal pride you get is…I can’t explain it…:)

I know everybody here is gonna disagree with me…but,I’ll take it:)
good debate anyways

@quasiprofound

You take the SAT on one day too,right?:)

Yes. But you can give it as many times as you want if you get a bad score/don’t perform as well as you could’ve. And the entire admission process? Not based on SATs, especially not one day’s SAT.

When did anyone say it was a bad test!!!

When did anyone say it was a bad test!!!

lol…I was still typing my post when you replied

The competition is scary when you’re applying to the US, too…especially as an international looking for aid…but at least your admission doesn’t hinge completely on ONE THING. You know?

And so did you this time. Lol.

11 seconds…

And I also think,to became a dedicated engineer…I dont need to participate in dance competitions,or quizzes,or debates,or do social service,or write essays saying I’m good:)
(the so-called ECs)

@smartchap:
And I also think,to became a dedicated engineer…I dont need to participate in dance competitions,or quizzes,or debates,or do social service,or write essays saying I’m good
(the so-called ECs)…AGREED
but to become a capital marketing engineer or a ceramic engineer…why would one need to study chemical nomenclature or mechanics…like hell…
well nobody says JEE is bad but its admission procedure sux…and so do its placements as well as its quota system… I would definitely not give JEE coz it will take away pleasure in my lyf…loll

That’s what tetris said, it’s for people who are SURE they want to be engineers. If you’re still in doubt about what you want to do, or if you have interests beyond engineering (doesn’t have to be quizzing or community service, it can even be, like, a science fair - I don’t know much about that) then IIT is not a SAFETY for you. It’s not a SAFETY for anyone. It’s a reach school for those who are SURE of what they want to do.

We’re not bashing IITs, dude, don’t worry:)
