aops sounds like fun really. I like math when I don’t HAVE to do it, or when it’s not timed, or when my future isn’t hinged upon doing it and getting it right within a particular time frame.

quasi, i disagree. i dont think you would like it based on whatever little of your personality I have figured out. its not math in the sense of learning concepts, but rather learning to solve a certain type of problem in the best way possible. you could say it is like IIT-JEE prep. all they do is heap problems on you. I would rather read about the application of l’hopital’s rule in diff eqs rather than know in which problem l’hopital should be used and shouldnt. and since when is anyone’s future hinged upon math? lol

Helloooooooooo, the SAT. If I get a 500 I’m not getting in anywhere you know! And that would change my future very drastically!

@surfup- I have more posts on aops than CC, and I don’t believe more than 10% are study related <_< And its obvious you’ve been looking at the wrong threads or with a closed mind. Its Olympiad prep, not JEE. You’re talking about goiit.com it seems.

So I’m having a Star Utsav Marathon right now. I’ve finished an hour of Om Namah Shivaya, and now I’m going to be seeing the Mahabharata for 2 hours. I’m a weird, weird person.

Also, quasi, shhh. We all know you’ll do awesome on the SAT. INCLUDING Maths.

@QP - I am sure you will get 600 +!

Lol thanks CS, let’s hope so. :)

And meghna, we’re all weird, weird people. That’s why we’re here.

@gary, I took AMC 10 Problem Series classes from AOPS. I was saying that the way they teach is similar to the fashion of IITJEE training. And I read or rather used to read only certain discussion boards, and those were all math-related. But whatever dude, each to his own opinion.

Quasi, please dont exaggerate. You will get a minimum of 770. We Indians eat the SAT for breakfast everyday. :)

she pukes IT

and hopefully will be THERE…

I’m not exaggerating. Really. I just suck at math. I’m not exaggerating when I say a 600 will make me happy. :)

CR and W, on the other hand…

Well ya…SATs are indeed easy…But IIT sucks. Have you ever visited their website???m…Nothing. And people flock in there. When did India ever produce “engineers”??? We produce nothing except babies. !!! Sorry for the post.!

Yeah, well CC is the ideal place for IIT-critics, seeing as half of us dont even want to be engineers.
According to politicians, Indians produce babies because they are bored. Don’t you remember that genius who proposed TVs will prevent indians from having sex?
Quasi, ditto on the CR but not the W. I freaking love analyzing literature.

highfives surfup CR lovers unite!

Q: Is writing my Uchicago supplement about my love of football wierd? I don’t know if it conveys a lot of my personality, or even is very intellectual a topic…but it just fits the prompt so perfectly. sigh

high five indeed. Just write the supplement on whatever describes you best.

What surfup said!

What the awesome people above me said!

@cheese: Lol, don’t worry, I knew already ;)

I love how I’ve gotten all you guys hooked onto latinlookup.com :P

tetris, good luck with Brown. My decisions come out in 5 days. This wait is killing me and thank you all for reminding me about decisions. Now I cant focus on anything else. :)

five days?! that’s early.
