I am sorry that I couldn't answer the questions earlier:

I got my Bates decision on March 23, I think it's what US colleges call the Early Write where they send out decisions to only a few applicants.

I got the half-tution thing at Grinnell, I emailed them and they said I was in running for the International Merit Scholarship, which would cover the cost of tution.

mellowjello, what does it mean that you are in running for the Interantional Merit Scholarship? i am asking because i also got into grinnell, but the give me only 13k and i cannot pay the rest...

ACCEPTED: international university bremen, grinnell, NYU

WAITLISTED: middlebury, carleton

REJECTED: colby, williams, university of notre dame, bard, yale, harvard

STILL WAITING: mt holyoke, bates, princeton

i thought bates has released already

i havent received mine yet, jurily.. so im expecting a rejection :(

maybe thats a gd sign, my fd got her rejection letter like 2 or 3 days ago. maybe you'd get an acceptance package

i hope so. :/ but im an international applicant, shouldnt they have fedexed it if i were admitted? getting cynical here

well i got admitted to UCLA but the letter is still thin, but snail mail too... thats why im not goin there lol

wait-listed at Cornell. sob

admitted to Carleton, Emory, and BU

Dooje, which boarding school do u go to?

accepted: Wesleyan, Grinnell, Northeastern (not western :P)
rejected: Colorado C, Earlham C
waitlisted: Carleton
pending: Sewanee & Pton(rejected probably)

@Grinnell acceptees: I got the half-tuition, too. lol look like they give almost every one that kind. But u have a good chance to increase it if you really want to go, 'cos I don't see many planning to accept the offer (with that kind of aid :))

Grinnell also offered me the half-tuition aid. How do you think Grinnell can increase my aid, by negotiating?

@vesselina: yep. how about writing a letter stating your strong interest and your fiancial circumstance: i really want to attend, but with a $13,5k I can't blah blah blah. I think it's worth trying. Good luck :)

sucharita got into PRINCETON!!!!
